Okay, just telling you, I went to alska and it is the DUMBEST system I have ever been in.

The Alaska system was used in SP only. In the scenario you will be guided through it at the appropriate time. In MP, if you wish to brave the mine field, you can get to the jump gate, but it does not operate for you. If you really want to navigate the mine field, fly the trade lane parallel to the jump gate. When you are directly accross from it, break off the trade lane and make a heading that places the gate hole exactly in front of you. If your ship is not too large you will find a pathway large enough to navigate slowly to the gate. Returning is MUCH more dificult, since you must now place the jump gate directly BEHIND you and head out toward the bright section in front of you until you clear the mines again. Good luck. PS someone posted that you could fly to Alaska by going around the gate and flying straight on. I have not been able to get to any other system that way yet.
