The best place to fly missions...
The best place to fly missions isn't, as many believe, Planets Malta or Crete or Tripoli Shipyard. No, there is a base where:
- the missions are worth the same amount (60k up to 245k)
- the targets are less agile than Hammerheads
- the targets have bad class-8 weapons instead of decent class-9
- the targets drop valuable Lancer, Hornet, and Swatter ammo as loot
- flying the missions results in less global reputation damage than flying for the Corsairs/Outcasts against Bounty Hunters
Where is this, you might ask? Leon Base in Omega-41. Here, the Corsairs offer missions to kill Red Hessians in Sabres. These ships are significantly less deadly than Bounty Hunters in Hammerheads, because they're slower (try Sunslayers for a blast) and the Hessian guns are terrible. Killing Hessians somewhat mitigates the overall slagging your reputation takes for flying missions for the pirate factions. The Hessians don't carry class-9 guns, but you do get class-8 drops and Hornet launchers, and it's not uncommon to pull in $30k worth of missiles in loot. Finally, the cargo loot like Pharmaceuticals is even more valuable on this base than the others nearby, and the radiation in Omega-41 works to your advantage in wearing down the enemy ships while you can just use nanobots.
