HELLLLLP! my jump holes are messed!

ok this only happens with jump HOLES. jump gates and trade lanes are fine. i fly to the jump hole. when i get within range, i select it and press f3 to dock with it. my ship immediately stops and nothing happens. i try again, and it begins to automatically fly my ship towards the hole. it then says "dock in use", and my ship continues flying for a few seconds, then i explode and die. am i docking with the jump hole correctly? you DO use the f3 command to use jump holes? or am i a n00b who doesnt know nething about flight outside of liberty?

please help.

ps im playing online when this happens, but it happens in 1 player too. pentium 4 2.0 gHz, 512 ram, geForce 2 graphx card, 56k modem, 100 meg HD, windows XP.

i posted this problem in the technical forum too cuz i dont know if its a technical or gameplay problem.

by the way, im level 36. its the jump hole from Dresden to Omega 11. i have a valkrye hvy fighter.

this problem has happened to me at level 4 in the jump holes in New York too.

reinstall the game sounds like a mod left something over it shouldnt have.

i have never downloaded or used any mods whatsoever, and have not edited any game files for myself. the only thing i have done technically is browse through the sound and video files of Freelancer in the game directory, and made my own server with FLServer.exe.

PLEASE ANSWER THIS:

is using the DOCK command (f3) the correct way to enter a jump hole?

[F3 is indeed the correct button used to dock but I have no idea what your problem is. Are you using the 1.1 patch? Re-installing might fix the problem, but there might be a less drastic way =).
