Omnicron Alpha

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Omnicron Alpha

I've been to all the other systems in SP and it seems like this is the hardest area to traverse in and out of. I own a Sabre outfitted with 4 Nomad Blasters, 2 Angelito Class 9 Guns, a Level 8 SkyBlast Turret, and a Level 9 Molecular Shield from Freeport 9 and I still get my arse handed to me time and time again. I'm having a helluva lot of difficulty getting to all the wrecks in this system.

I don't know if it's because I get jumped every minute or so by about 4-6 Corsair Sabres or if it's the radiation damage eating away at my ship's hull, but this is definitely a painful neck of the woods if ya ask me?

My question:

What can I do to improve my odds?

I use countermeasures, don't like missle, but ocassional utilize torpedos or mines. Ultimately, I'm a blaster kinda guy and like to get up close with guns and watch the enemy ships fly apart as I mow them down.

Can I improve my odds without changing my strategy?

I've been wondering if I should make a trip to Malta or Crete and get me a level 10 shield...

ok. firstly, you really need to get this moved into the spoilers forum....ask a mod, or delete this post and paste it into a new spoilers post.

Looking at your kit, ship, weapons etc, I would say that the only way to improve your chances are to improve your flying skills. I know thats not helpful, but you've got a good ship with good weapons.

However there are a couple of other things you can do, improving your shields is definitely one of them.

Also, analyse your enemy. Find out what shields they use and adapt your weapons to bring them down quicker.

I know thats probably not the best of help, but its the best I can do without including spoilers - sorry!

how to give yourself a better chance ?
well improve weapons class 9 skyblast turret
t del cids for the l9 gun slots or wyrm type 2
a class 9 shield ? buy the class 10 !
use the engine kill command whilst at full thrust and above all practice
alternately kill a shed load of gmg and the outcasts will love you

actually kraken 2 in the level 9 slots do a better job , and if you fly a sabre get a debilitator turret for the shield killing and 4 blasters in the lvl 10 slots

Time is too short to hate everybody , just hate a few

Sorry about not posting in the right forum. It won't happen again. I appreciate the help. I guess my flying skills could use some improvement. I tried out Starlancer the other day and that game kicked my arse! Well, besides the Wing Commander series (which I played a long time ago) this is the only other space sim I've played so I guess I can't expect to be that great right away!

Anyways...

See you space Cowboy...
