The BMM gold mining conspiracy

I was pirating shipping the other day in New London... and what should I discover other than a transport shipping gold TO Dublin. I killed and looted it at the Dublin jumphole before I learnt it's final destination but I have a hunch it was GRAVES STATION.

Graves - Hood price discrepancy. Graves has higher gold prices than Battleship Hood, despite Graves being in the richest pocket of gold in the universe.

The Corsairs: Since when do Corsairs have friends? Yet the Corsairs patrol Graves station with impunity. It's pretty obvious BMM gets the corsairs to do some dirty work; perhaps removing pesky Freelancers mining BMM's gold? Hey it sure beats having to pay the freelancer to get the gold back.

I'll cut to the chase, BMM is hoarding gold on/outside graves station to artificially inflate gold prices and they have illicit dealings with the corsairs.

(ps much of this can be attributed to AI idiocy, but you have to admit, it fits kinda well)

No offence , but if you had waited and LEFT the transport you probably would have seen it being blown out of space by the (*drumroll*) Corsairs !

OR it could just be AI stupidity and I posted for nothing .....

excellent! What better way to get gold out circulation than to have it stolen by the corsairs sent to Tripoli Shipyard and never seen again! (atleast by anyone who lives to tell the tale)

The thing is the Corsairs deal in ARTIFACTS, not gold. It COULD be a sub-resource but i can hardly think that the corsairs would go out of the way that to get gold.

they need the gold for there ships. at least thats my theory, since the highest price for gold is tripoli shipyard

gold is commonly used as a radiation sheild....prob'ly why the corsairs want it...

the BMM-Dublin thing is strange but not so much as the little "corporate war" in Sigma-13.....hang out near helgoland for a while and it all becomes clear...

Playing the game from the start again. Took a trip to dublin while at level 9, enjoyed mining corsairs while picking up gold with wayward shots, the joy of gold lined battles. Corsairs ... bring em on.
