Starflier 500 Grand Championship!

Pilot, you have mastered the art of flying the worst ships imaginable, the bottom of the scrap heap. You are brought here to compete against mankind's deadliest foe in a winner-takes-bragging-rights fight-to-your-death tournament. You will engage in a rigorous test of your piloting and combat skills, in the farthest and darkest corners of the Sirius sector...Your challenge is to defeat as many waves of Nomads as you can, without landing or repairing, in the lowest level ship possible. Here are the rules and instructions for the championship:

-Loadout requirements are as follows:
Starflier
3x Justice Mk.I
1x Basic Thruster
1x Drone Mine launcher
1x Basic Countermeasures
1x Level 1 Light Fighter shield
Full shield batts
Full nano bots

- The system for the competition will be the Unknown System from the Omicron Gamma Unknown jump hole.

- You will proceed to one of the easter-egg planets to repair any damage to your ship. Save the game and launch.

---- Upon launch from the easter-egg planet(Primus or Gammu), you will note the game timer and record the time. This is the start of your first round.

- You are not permitted to use cruise engines at any point during a round. If you do so, the time you entered cruise will count as the end of that round. This is to prevent people from using cruise engines to increase their survival time.

- You may not retreat for any reason. Retreating from a battle will be counted as the end of the round.

- Take a screenshot right after launch, and right before death.

- You will engage all enemies encountered. Record any components lost and when you lost them. When you die, that is the end of your round. You will record the time of death and number of Nomads killed.

- You will have three rounds to improve your total. After each round, load your save and begin the next. At the end of the third round you will record the results of all three battles and report them here.

---- Your score will be based on the best of your three rounds. The scoring system is as follows:
Number of total kills(10 points per kill)
Time from launch to death(when faced with equal scores, lowest time wins)

I wanted to factor in things like components lost and # of enemies fought at a time, but there is really no way of making sure people are being honest about that stuff.

If you report a suspicious score, you will be asked for screenshots to prove your legitimacy. If the screenshots are discovered to have been altered in any way, or you fail to provide them, you will be disqualified.

It is highly recommended that you DL the No story mod or something similar before attempting this, since you're better off doing it in SP.

------------You must have completed this challenge by Monday, October 13, at 9:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. At that time, no more submissions will be taken and I will score the results.

Please refrain from spamming in here, since it will royally piss off anyone actually trying to participate.

Get it? Got it? Good!

On your marks, get set, GO!

And we are supposed to survive to get to the starting line?
Beginning ==> Omicron Gamma <==> Unknown System

Killing Outcasts IS my hobby.

Wow, what a giggle that is, took me over 30 minutes to get to gamma, docking most places so as not to get bashed by Corsairs.

On arrival at Nomad central, I had 10, goes and never got more than three. No screenshots at the moment as this isn’t considered competitive.

Great fun though, will try harder and post again.

Take a screenshot of the time just before you die huh? Yea right. One hit to the hull and you will likely be dead let alone have time to open the menu.

As I have a runing joke with my mates that the Starflier is made mostly out of cardboard and glue, it's hard to see how anyone could even get to the starting line. That said, best of luck to anyone who goes for it, you'll certainly need it.

Cardamine rules!!

The Starlyfer is a level 0 ship not level 1

Looking at the way this post is going, please don’t tell me I have to go through that pain again to get a screenshot.

Seems no one took the bait. Oh well...so much for that idea. :/
