Confused...did I beat it? What did I miss?

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Confused...did I beat it? What did I miss?

Okay, I followed the storyline through...yippee. I sent the "Nomads" back through that big portal. I got awarded a Lone Star by the president. Juni then tells me to go get a job. Since then, no storyline, pure freelancer work only. I'm fine with that if this is how it ends. I just don't FEEL like I'm done yet with the storyline. I haven't even discovered all the systems yet!! I'm confused...did I beat it? What did I miss? I feel like I jumped through the game and missed a LOT of either sidequests or exploration. I've only logged just under 20 hours of game time. I went online to play multiplayer and met up with people who flying ships I NEVER EVEN SAW shooting weapons I'VE NEVER SEEN SHOOT. What's going on? Thanks

At the end of the story you should be level 17or 18, may be higher if you piled up cash (is that right anyone). You are now on the truely FREE part of Freelancer and Sirius is yours for the exploration. The aim now is to get to level 38 by stockpiling cash. Also to discover other systems and bases. Some of the systems you won't last 3 seconds in until you level up and buy better ships, sheilds and weapons. There are systems with some good stuff in it, wrecks with great weapons etc etc etc. My advice would be check out Sigma 13, see what's around there and generate some cash. Use the tools at your disposal here in TLR, Rep & wreck lists by Haenlomal, nav maps, ship data etc ... have fun and explore see how far you get

If you throw enough mud ..some's gonna stick.

look for ship info here
look for navmap info here

and what jat71 told about off the ships can be right, but also not... i been on all bases with a defender, also did 240k missions with it... but it's diviculty... and cost a lot off ammo

have fun playing around...

If u c some1 in a defender make fireballs from hunter it can be me

Try a different server or play a mod .TNG 1.60 is a good one. REstart the SP game in TNG. Bootstrap2 also is fun. Hostile Universe is good but crashes alot (for Me). The mods have a version for most styles of play. Or use Ioncross editor and become a God. The mod Serious sirius has some great battles and is hard enough for most. I've played most if not all of them on SP. Great fun!

I find the rebalance with adjustable levels of difficulty alrite personally... you could always try change the difficulty in perf options to 2.00 or something, dunno if it works tho

Sometimes the glass is half full, other times its half empty. Usually its just twice as big as it really needs to be

Do what you can on the orignal first, then mod if you need to to retain interest. As for the Defender, that takes a REALLY good pilot to survive some those systems if your rep isn't right. Plus half the fun is upgrading, why drive an escort when you can buy an aston martin?

Thanks for the response. At least I don't feel like I missed something now. I see mention my goal is now level 38. What happens then...? Thanks again

I'm 38 with about 90 hours logged, skipping between that and MP. I haven't been to every base - hang with the BH to much to get in the door at some bases - I've saved Tau 37 and havn't been there yet (just my own quirk - if I ever get bored of the game I've still got something new to do). Didn't find robots and monkeys until i was 38, docked and tried the titan when was 38 (went back didn't like it). Try wierd things like agitating the heck out of corsairs at their homeworld to see how many titans I could take on at once. Do what you like that's the best part about being free. MP is fun .. just started that, flying around from scratch, eeking out a living, trying to upgrade in a server that doesn't have many wrecks left and staying out of the way of others at the mo cause I am weak (but not for long). Enjoy.

Well, actually we all feal like we missed a lot, because the game seems unfinnished. Just look at the storyline, it has to be the crapiest ending ever.

Hey I've played freelancer for about 120 hours now and I have a worth of 2,921,810 and I'm still at a level 30 and it keeps telling me that a mission is way to the next level and I've done like 300 missions. Is this a glich?, what worth did others level to 38

Post Thu Oct 02, 2003 4:59 pm

HS, sounds like your stuck in 'the level loop', there are technical ways to help, but I'll give you the not too good at this answer. Dock and take a mission, any mission, that may unstick you when you complete it. Failing that go back to a level 29 save and try again? (Sitting here now waiting for Nickless to do that cool hyperlink thing that will give you a better answer).
