Go to california, then to bering/hudson, then to hamburg, then to new berlin, then to stuttgart and to get to the jumpgate follow the bottom tradelane. Just remember to get a ship with a good hull and plenty of nanobots before trying to mine the Von rohe belt near the star theres alot of radiation there

Search for the Freelancer Roadmap, you'll find jump hole and Jump gate locations for all systems and a layout of the systems. I'd put a hyperlink in but I'm a dumb a** and don't know how

If you throw enough mud ..some's gonna stick.

Ok if you want to know the most profitable trade route for diamonds in a nut shell here it is:
The cheapest place to buy diamonds: Planet New Berlin, New Berlin System.
Most expensive place to sell diamonds: Planet New Tokyo, Tokyo system.

Best way to get there: Go through the border worlds as a short cut:
Buy diamonds at planet new berlin,
New Berlin----->sigma 13-----> Honshu------>New Tokyo
sell diamonds at planet New Tokyo
Rinse and repeat.

This is NOT the most profitable trade route in the game but it is one of the best.
Ok there is the complete spoiler. All you have to do is find the proper jumpholes and you will be on your way to riches and glory
However,
If you want to know the MOST profitable trade route in the game (that I am aware of and that is saying quite a lot) here it is:
The MOST profitable trade route is to take Alien organisms from Omicron Beta to cambridge research center or california minor. HOWEVER this is not taking into consideration the perishable nature or the alien organisms. This fact cuts dramatically into profits so this one requires special care. For this reason I often prefer trading in diamonds instead. As they say "diamonds are forever" lol
Anyway there it is. Have fun!

Courtsey of the TLR resources for confirmation, New Berlin is not the cheapest place to buy diamonds.

Damstadt - Stuttgart, Vogtland - Dresden, Solaris - OM11: All cheaper.

And for the cheapest of all jewlery outlet stores - Ronneburg -OM11 & Freital - OM11.

Or as stated before mine them yourself for nothing but your time........

If you throw enough mud ..some's gonna stick.
