Need help on the race mission

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Need help on the race mission

I need help with the mission where you have to race a person through rings in order for him to help you.

Does anyone know a trick or two of beating him? Alos does anyone know the name of the ship he uses?

Heeeyyy another race thread! An Im first on the scene! Coool.... Oh anyway, yeah that race can be an ass sometimes, an I should know.... Well its fairly simple, go to Cruise as soon as possible an just try to get through the gates without hitting them and dont screw up. Just get near the end an his Cruise fails and you should just sail past...
Sounds simple? Well not quite. Try using side strafe to stabalise you self, move you ship in advanced to the rings to help and ignore the guns at the end of course. And ol man Hovis is flying a BorderWorld Dagger, Light Fighter, only available at Buffalo Base, New York, Badlands... not that it matters, I did it in a Dromodery!! And THAT is slow! I can tell ya...........

Bein an Outcast is about doin things you wanna do: Kill, Terrorise, Murder, Destroy, Smoke Cardamine, ya know, normal stuff.....

all you do is get a small ship fly through the rings ingnor everthing just cruse through all the rings his engines will fail near the end just fly past. just don't hit any thing or miss a ring and you can win easily. it doesn't matter if your last at the start or in the middle just make shore you don't get too far behind.
