Ok here's my situation. I played the entire single player storyline, and of couse ran across the Alaska system. I was intrigued by it and decided to try going back there during the multiplayer to explore it further. After a considerable amount of searching for the tiny whole in the minefield I finally got to the jumpgate only to hear the discouraging "access denied". I think there are several jumpholes that are like that and I am wondering this: Is there any way to gain access to those jumpgates or are they simply there to antagonize the explorationally inclined players like me .
Do I need a certain level of allegiance to certain factions in order to gain jump access to certain jumpgates or what?
