Gun Mounting - set up

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Gun Mounting - set up

I've experimented with the level 10 weapons I've looted from wrecks, but as there is little or no info on them I'm having trouble getting a nice even spread for the weapons.

Problem is I have more weapons than ports (eagle). I don't know which is best against positron. graviton, molecular etc. Has anyone come up with a set up that refires at a half decent rate and covers the board ? (This is probably a discussion item but I had to mention where I got the weapons so people would know what I have, Bloodstone, Silver Fire etc - Purple something is the only lvl 10 wreck weapon I haven't got around to getting yet).

Kept a level 7 weapon .. purely for refire when energy is low as a snakes belly.

If you throw enough mud ..some's gonna stick.

The class 10 weapons are all the same type, I think...besides, you don't NEED to swap them to penetrate different shields, those things are uber against any target you point them at.

But just for your info, Diamondback and Cerebus are the most damaging per shot, Jade the most energy efficient. Wild Fire is the best firepower/efficiency combination. The nomad guns are simply rediculous. None of the class 10 weapons even remotely come close to being balanced though.

I will aid them when I can...if they give me a percentage of the salvage from whatever they frag along the way. Hell, they were even so kind as to sell me a ship after one of my jobs with them, and I've been flying her ever since. But god help them if someone puts a bounty on THEIR heads, for I don't care who I hunt for, as long as their live capture(or untimely death) can get me enough credits to buy a decent sized mug of my favorite drink."- A Freelance Bounty Hunter.

@ NukeIt, most of the CODENAME weapons are inferior to the Kraken Type 2 of the Outcasts. For 'unbalanced' try the Nomad guns which, besides being the most powerful guns in the game, drain no energy whatsoever.

Thanks to you both for the info, I'll try mounting the four you mentioned and go get some nomad weapons .. appreciate your time.

I have a pair of most of them and just can't bring myself to sell them just in case I need them again.

I tend to use 4x Nomad Canons and 2 Wyms type 2's

They Kill most things quickly and have a re-fire rate of 3 wich is ok, and the cannons draw no power LOL.

Pitty they wont fire when your cruising?

The Kraken 2 may be more powerful, but there's a catch- you have to BUY it, for a pretty hefty chunk of pocket change. That makes it a wee bit better balanced than your average wreck-loot class 10, which you can get for free.

Nomad weapons make me want to puke. Why anyone would put something that insanely overpowered into a game is beyond my ability to comprehend(ok, maybe it isn't...people seem to love guns that make them feel like gods). Sure, let's get these class 10 weapons that chew through shields and armor like tissue paper, give them a quicker refire rate than the other class 10's...oh, and let's make it so that there's NO PENALTY WHATSOEVER FOR USING THEM! Like perhaps...no energy! Sound like fun yet?

/end rant

Well, getting nomad weapons is the last set of scenario missions, just not scripted, though it is clearly set up as the bonus for getting through to the end of the game, so to speak. Once you are to the nomad guns you have worked your way to the hardest part of the game and are basically finished.

Of course, given the three hour journey to a level ten ship and three and a half to nomad guns, it does kind of make the entire multiplayer scene a bit weak.

It really ought to fugue to the next set of missions or an expansion pack.

Class 10 and Nomad guns aside, I've done pretty good with these class 9 guns--2 Firekisses, 2 Wyrms and 2 Salmanacas on my Eagle(the Titan bites). Had to buy the Firekisses(Dresden,Pirna Station) the others were looted but unmounting any pair of these and replacing them with Cerebeuses rocks. Just my 2 cents worth. Stay frosty out there!!!
