how do i move weapons in cargo to my hardpoint?

like when i find loot in space, a weapon, or missle launcher. i could sell it , then buy it right back, but it wastes money. well kinda since its found in space so its free. but is there a way to move it to my empty hardpoints?

The dagram in your equipment screen of each equippable item has a small blue 'puzzle-box' in the corner of it.

If the box is 'closed' it is equipped. Clicking on the box will un-equip it.
If the box is 'open' it is not equipped. Clicking on it will equip it, assuming there is an available hardpoint which will fit the item, and which is currently empty.

This operation can be done from the inventory screen (F7) and from the equipment dealer on a base. The operation can only be done when you are docked.

They tell you what the icon is, but that is the extent of it. I lost ALOT of money selling them puppies to see if I could buy/mount a superior weapon only to find that I could not and had to buy back MY gun at a higher price.
