Yet another post about the Nomads

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Yet another post about the Nomads

I've been wondering about this for a long time, and I've decided to ask you guys about it.
In the SP campaign, the Nomad fighters don't have shields, so, why the hell do they carry shield batteries?

PS. I f this has been addressed elsewhere please don't shout at me - I tried searching but the list was very long and I agve up half way!

It's been generally consented that they drop shield batteries to keep the game fun, seeing as how it can be expensive or sometimes outright impossible to get a new supply of them near the end of the campaign. In order to keep gamers from becoming frustrated because they cannot survive through one of the final set of missions, the designers made shield batteries lootable from these interceptors/fighters.

Nanobots are a better choice...it doesn't take money to repair a shield, but your hull takes a chunk out of your wallet if you let it get beat up too much. Shield batteries don't have enough charge in them to be worth their price(There really should be an option to just use one, just to kick-start your shields but not fully recharge).

Of course, Nomad ships seem to be huge on special energy effects, so the batteries could be used for something...other than shields.

i agree with magicks, whenever your just fighting the nomads if your really getting beat up you could use up all of your shield batteries very quickly depending on what ship you have. If your in a light fighter that cant hold that many shield batteries or nano bots then you need to constant supply or your going to die...

Nomads drop shield batteries? Maybe in the SP game then. All they drop when I blast them near the jump hole to their systems in an occasional laser or blasters.

Have You seen that the guns on nomads ships are an attempt to adapt human guns with nomads energy.
Why nomad ships use human guns (even adapted) ???
And who try to adapt human technology with nomad energy ?????
And these ships are created by culture, they are something living.

There is some really unexplicable things with nomads.
