I have an odd request. *spoiler*

I moved recently, and had to install Freelancer on a new computer. Annoyingly, I didn't bring my save games with me. Could anyone email me a saved-game? I was on the mission where you have to get a power cell for the nomad artifact. Also, can you opt to not do the single player game? If I just want to cruise around the galaxy and make my own way, can I do that? After I win the game, can I do that?

I'm afraid I don't have the save file you request (I deleted all my auto-saves from the missions a long time a go). As for being able to avoid the Sp campaign, all together; you can't. When you beat the game, however, you're free to do whatever you please.

Ugh, in that case, I really need a save game from the end. SP was fine, but I don't really want to go through it again.

Aren't there game-finished savegames in the download section? Me thinks I saw people mention something like this. If there aren't, here are two that are good for starting a new career: Starflier and Patriot. Both ships are equipped with Scorpions and Adv. Scorpions, so they are really fun to fly. And with the Patriot you can make a lot of cash in a hurry if you take missions in Rheinland or the Borderworlds; you have to earn a bit of cash anyway to level up before you are allowed to buy a Banshee or a Falcon. Or you could go buy a Drake and then head into the Omegas/Omicrons where you can earn up to 200k per mission in a Drake (reward plus loot).

Aaah, thanks a ton! Now I can putter about the galaxy at will. You are right, I was going through the single player missions, and they were shockingly easy, but I was getting bored the second time through. Lots of movies and whatnot. Thanks again.
