One of the BADDEST MISSLES EVER MADE!! YOU CAN MAKE IT
This missle is as beautiful as a particle fire ball, as accurate as a nomad Cruise Disruptor, over twice as fast as a normal missle, doesn't require ammo, and still keeps plenty of fun in the game!
1. I give partial credit to the engine-weapons mod maker. He uses a very cool looking particle weapon blast for the eraser which does not require ammo and mounts on the cruise disruptor/torp hardpoint. Although I do not use the mod, I begin with his Eraser specs (copying and pasting ALL of them for the eraser missle to the section in weapons_equipment.ini. for the eraser missle and deleting the original specs. [I may have opened weapons_equip.ini the first time with BINI, but I think wordpad will open it -- BACK IT UP FIRST! There is also a price fix in Weapons_good.ini for the eraser, if you want to use it copy and paste again. I did, just to be safe. It will cost you 2,500,000 BUT you get it right back when you sell all of the eraser missles which you WON'T need. [If you buy the eraser missle first, before making all these changes you will make 2,500,000 when you sell the missles, which is a cheat I do not recommend.
2. ANYHOW, What else makes it so super bad? I open the file in Wordpad and go to the eraser missle IDS 263157 and modified the damage to match the PARALYZER missle, making it a shield killer only (lines are: hull_damage = 69.699997 and Energy_damage = 2788 ). Hall damage ends up at only 69, but shield damage is 2788.
2. I changed the seeker range line from 1000 to 2000 giving it twice the range but still short of the Nomad. I changed the seeker_fov_line from 35 to 120 similar to the nomad CD, I changed the muzzle_ velocity= line to 160.3 making it move at 220m/s rather than the standard slow 90m/s.
3. I changed the max_angular_velocity= line to 8.710000 (like the nomad CD) making it home in better than the firestalker!
All the settings are safe because I used settings already in the game for other weapons. This missle does not take all the fun out of the game because it only affects shields (69 hull damage). It looks awesome. Sure I could have made it more powerful with cannonball stats, but that is NOT necessary. With this speed and homing ability it would ruin the fun of dogfighting. Currently it takes out any shield with 4 or less hits and makes a cool purple with smoke hit (nomad CD) blast when it hits, which is always after your guns hit.. This thing never misses, although enemies do use counter measures sometime.
