Rebalance Mod 1.4b *SPOILERS*

Ok, ive been playing the rebalance mod quite alot, and have found some parts of it challenging (namely the enermy ship behavior and weaker shields encouraging new tactics)...

But all in all a bit too easy.
There are a couple of ships that just dont fit the price performance calculations:
First is the DAGGER: Light hull, lev4 shields, nothing special... cept for insane speed, good turns and 6 guns + 2 forward facing turrets. I was killing ships many classes it senior.
Then in dublin i found the TIE DEFENDER: Insanely low cost ~200k, but 6 lev8/9 guns, lev10 shields, great turns and a high top speed.... Waaaay to good a ship for such a price. The only thing it really lacked was a thick hull and some cargo capacity. (no big deal for a fighter that the enemy could rarely hit)
I also find it odd that while i couldnt get an eagle till i reached lev30 (only lev23 on hard) i COULD pick up the Bwing or Bobba fets hunter... which are far more powerful craft.
The freighters too are generally set way too high, though cargo capacity is good... there is no low level start freighter to speak of... they all cost from 300k up to 2 million.

And my final point: WEAPONS... like the balance of weapons... most are good, until that is i found the IMG Vampire Tachions.
At the time i was toting lev7 bretonia tachions doing ~120hull per shot. When i found the vampiremk2 it did an insane 500+ for LESS energy expenditure than the bretonian one. The lev7 vampire's damage equals the output of the krakens!
Once i got a set of them things became way too easy.

The thing about Rebalance is that you must have some self control. The vampires are obviously not meant to do that amount of damage, the matterthiefs have a similar problem. It looks like the overall damage has been swapped for the shot damage. Sell them and get something else.

The pricing issue with the ships is harder to work around 'cause flying the new ships is a big part of the game. Try looking at a similar ship and seeing what the top weapons class on it is and sticking to that. Or waiting till you've finished SP then checking out the new ships.

Rememeber to report back to MD with bugs (i.e. huge weapons - i assume these are bugs) or suggestions - i know he used FL Ship Cost Calculator for 1.4 but i agree the new ships are still far too powerful.

Oh and the whitestar, while its got impressive capabilities, is virtually unflyable.
It bangs into tradelanes and wont dock with 90% of stations.
Even has trouble docking with docking rings.

Love the sith infiltrator though... that one was got just right!
Good looks, good guns, possibly a little cheap, but very nice.

problem with missle turrets and all the other sunslayer and such, if the enemy blows up with ur ally beside, ur allies get blown and ur busted

oh, and entering omicron beta (outcast controlled area) leads to a crash to desktop - and i tried entering it from both directions.

I just started playing the Rebalance 1.4 mod and am enjoying finding the new fighters. From what I've seen so far the Tie Fighter seems to be a pretty effective light fighter for it's price. I just discovered the A-Wing fighter and am drooling over that one,but I don't have the credits yet. Is the Dagger the best LF for this mod? Can it be purchased at other bases besides Buffaloe?

This "Whitestar", how many guns does it have? I do not yet have the 10 million credits to purchase it yet, and I cannot access the informantion on the ship information screen.
