I guess as they are destroyed before you can kill the ship, they don't drop.
Also, the Champion shield only has a regeneration of 1 because it's being used by an NPC and their sheilds don't regenerate. The actual regeneration rate is 245. They are all set up ready in the files, it is just that no bases have them on their sell list - oversight, or balance issue we will never know.
