wen i must destroed the battleship that is lose to th order-ase, i needed shield bats from the nomad-fighters... otherwishe i as dead... sobe happy that in sp they loose also shield bats (y they hae them i don't know, co'z they have no shields at all...)

For ingame reasons, maybe the Nomad ships are made of nothing BUT shields. Nomad ships are blue and semi-transparent, indicating it's not made of the same stuff as human ships. It also explains their lack of shields and why they're so easy to kill; they have shields but nothing underneath.

The wonder is why Nomad shield batteries are compatable with human ships with no adaptation at all.

Ahh c'mon, we've all seen how many times they've killed friendly ships in overly scripted events, maybe they uhh used an invisible tractor beam or someting...or maybe they eat shield batteries for lunch? Who knows, but it sure makes things easier.

you guys are questioning a game... i've encountered things like that in diablo 2 as well, ie. how do you kill a bunch of bugs (locusts) with a goddamn hammer?

Nomad ships are shieldless because they are organic. They drop the batteries as a reward to keep you going, so you don't get blown to pieces by all the interceptors flying around.

The Nomads are trying to buy up all supplies of shield batteries, in order to weaken the human fighters. They also try to keep their guns out of the hands of their human enemies; that is why the scour the black markets and buy all the converted guns and prototypes.
