Unknown Object in Tau37

Does anyone have any idea what the unknown object in Tau37 may be? It's inside the corona of one of the binary suns at the center of the system. If you switch the nav list to all objects after leaving Freeport 10 and go toward the sun, it comes up with a weapon platform icon for the "unknown object". I tried to get close enough to see it with my Titan, but the ship explodes in the sun's corona. I could put the game in "God Mode" but I'm just wondering if anyone else has already figured out what the object is? It's probably of no significance, but it's intriguing.

the unknown object is too close to the suns corona to get to.I think that it may be something that the programmers were planning on doing but forgot to finish

Upon the inspection of the .ini files, it was discovered that this object is classified as a 'protoplanet'. It was left unfinished, most probably on purpose.

The object doesn't actualy exist. I loaded up on nanos and flew to it, there's nothing there. And yeah, I managed to get my ass out of the corona before I died

there was a post awhile back that showed a picture of the object. i believe the final verdict was that it was in fact a protoplanet, like cpbuja said.
