Kraken Type 2

Okay, I know these can be purchased from Ruiz base in Omicron Beta, but my Outcast faction is totally jacked, and I don't really feel like taking the time to raise it. So, what I would like to know is: can Kraken Type II guns drop off of any Outcast ships? I've killed many, but have only seen Wyrm Mark I and IIs--anyone know if the Kraken guns are even drops or can they only be attained through purchase? Statistically the Kraken Type II is the best level 9 gun available, damage-wise, and that's why I'd like to get one or more.

You should try going in the Omicron Alpha System, in the green cloud, to the burial ground (with all the outcast wrecks and the nomads). I got there lots of Krakens + Ripper Mines ( or something like that, probably the best mines, coloured in blue).
But you can forget the Krakens, because nomads have those lvl 9 lasers (not the blasters nor the cannons ) . You can find those either there or in the unknown system ( go through the jump hole in the middle of the burial ground)

Nomad lasers don't get dropped unmodded, only blasters and cannons.

Nope, Chiligan's information is incorrect.

The wrecks only drop Ripper mines, paralyzer missles (just the missles, not the launcher), and either a pair of codename guns or Wyrms.

Only way to get the Kraken 2 is to get extremely friendly with the Outcasts (9 bars - max friendly), or use a Mod.

go to freeport 6 or 10 (zoners bases) and talk with the bartender

he can hack u to be neutral or hostile with outcast

But you could forget the intrests of these stupid Lasers, because these Nomad Laser's fire rate, the slowest ever of the factions' official weapons. But the best and mysterious part: The Nomad's weapons don't use any energy usage, because you could save time shooting armored ships and all that jazz.

As for the Kraken's and all other guns, there's no point to plant on other ships--you'll have to study the Max. Weapon Class section before purcashing ships.
