How to align yourself with Corsairs/Outcasts/etc...

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

How to align yourself with Corsairs/Outcasts/etc...

Well, I bought this game long ago, but I just started playing it again, and I'm trying to figure out how to get myself positively aligned with the criminal factions.

I found Barrow Base in Hudson, but I was intercepted and destroyed. IT's like you don't even get a chance to align yourself with them - they see you and they just attack you. Anyone know how get favorable with these Factions?

Thanks for the info.

For the corsairs, look for bribes at some of the freeports, like freeport 5 or 9, or go kill lots and lots and LOTS of mollies. For the outcasts, go blast xenos to high heaven. Once your neutral, you can run some missions for them.

In general, use bribes and kill your choice faction's enemies. Also, search more in this forum. This topic has resurfaced several times.

In New York, I bribe the Junkers on the Battleship Missouri, then go do Junker missions at Rochester base against the Xenos. This improves just about everybody's disposition to you.

Once the Rogues are neutral, head to Buffalo, and buy them all the way to friendly. Do a few missions for them (this time against "the law" and all the criminal factions jump up in a real hurry, while "the law" only seems to lose a little bit.

The missions are also pretty easy, generally just going after a few Defenders or somesuch. Works for me, at least. . . .

all crimal usually have a common enemy, the Bounty Hunters, house police, house miltiaries and house comporation, so basically attack any of them usually helps, for outcast and consairs, just keeping killing Bounty Hunters until they are netural, then take mission from them that kills more bounty hunters.

The best way to align yourself criminally early on is to shoot Bounty Hunters or Xenos in NY until the Rogues or Junkers are neutral, then start taking missions for them. Junkers won't improve your rep with the Rogues much, but you'll become friends with them, and their missions are against BH and Xenos, which is good. Once you're good with the Rogues, progress to Lane Hackers. If you go an all fighting no trading way, go to Mactan (Magellan) then to the Islay Base (Gaians, Magellan), through the Tau systems, then the GC and Dragons in Kusari (no Farmers Alliance of Hogosha, they'll improve yopur rep a bit with the Police or Samura), then into Rheinland for Bundschuh, Unioners and Hessians, then onwards into the Omegas and Omicrons. If you trade early on you can skip Bretonia, they're boring. But it's best to go through all four because you'll be taking missions that are in your ship's capabilities. Going straight from Liberty to Kusari will get you dead quick because of the big jump in mission difficulty. Liberty -> Rheinland is suicide unless you have a high-level escort with lots of cash, but then it would be boring.

take 2 outcast bribes then take a single corsair bribe. Both factions should come out as high neutral or green.

Or you could lane hack until rougues, hackers, and outcasts become neutral, take a single bribe for the outcasts, then one for the corsairs...

Reaper: $200,000,000.
Rockets: $100,000
The look on that pilot's face when you launch a full pod of screamers up his tailpipe: priceless

I usually shoot Hessians. The Corsairs hate them and they are enemies of the mask-breathers too. I don't hunt Xenos, because they are not evil, just misunderstood
