The shield is called Adv. Champion its ids number is 263808. You can add it to your favorite equipment dealer or it is a lootable item which you'll have to find an NPC ship that has it and after you blow out of the stars see if they left it. Best to look in the omicron systems.

Always aim for center mass.

its not for sale and doesnt drop from any ship. It's Only NPC's that have it, so any human player you see with it is cheating or your on a moded server.

Have you ever looted a shield from a ship you've shot out of the sky? I haven't and it doesn't seem like you should be able to. It's the first thing you shoot up, right?

The Adv. Champion Shield is listed in the strategy guide with stats. And yet other equipment that you can't get your hands on isn't. Seems to me it should be attainable somewhere. Maybe a hidden base in the middle of nowhere, where no one should ever have a reason to go.

The lvl10 graviton shield is in the game, so is the Paralyzer missile launcher. They are both perfectly usable by the player, it is just that no stations are set to sell them.

Try learning to mod and add them in, it took me about 20 minutes to find out how.

Ugh, the Adv Champion IS NOT LOOTABLE. NO SHIELDS ARE LOOTABLE. Christ's sake people. Sure, you can mod it in if you want, but unless you change the recharge rate it sucks. Plus if you use it online you're kind of a cheater...

You see a low recharge rate because its on an NPC, you don't have to change it if you add it in. All NPC shields have no recharge except in SP missions.

While I agree adding it in MP is kinda cheating, if no-one else can use it that is, my thinking is it should have been there but was missed off the base sell list, so I've just corrected it in my version. Which only I play, so it's not like the end of the world for the rest of the gaming community.

And at 11,038 armour (HF) with 245 recharge I'd say it doesn't suck.

The other guy's right though, sheilds are set as lootable in the ini's, but I guess as you have to destroy them to kill the ship they don't drop. Because they are destroyed. Or something.
