Don't forget the ultracool LightBlueSpecial headlight (HpHeadLight) and the SlowSmallPurple running lights (HpRunningLight01-xx).

Seriously, don't forget to get the best shield and thrustersssss.

The Adv. Champion is an NPC only shield, no getting it without a mod.

The best mine is the Ripper Mine, you get it in wrecks. The actual location is probably a spoiler so check out Haens wreck list and search for Ripper.

Best turret? There are 3 class 9's, the buckshot, the salamanca and the skyblast B. I think the skyblast B does most damage, it also fires at 8.33 and looks and sounds cool None of the decent turrets match the projectile speed of the nomads tho.

why does everyone want to have the "best" ship or the "coolest" ship. Can't we all just put all of this competition to the side and just have fun trading, pirating, and going on missions with friends?? For instance, the Frostworks servers are good servers because the mod for them really makes it so that there isnt a real big competition to have the best ship because with the mod needed for the server it makes you use other ships more often instead of using the eagle, sabre, and titan all the time. Of course there are some people out there who don't struggle to have the best ship or anything like that... or maybe I'm drunk and have no idea about what I'm talking about... boy, that Irish whisky hits you hard...

Everyone wants the "best" ship because they don't want to be killed by their faults as a pilot. Flying something lesser lets you know what you're really made of.

Yup, So far I like the Falcon,

I fly level 30 nmissions with it all the time out of Freeport 2. I do think people have it wrong in that the real challange is to take a lesser ship against a bigger more powerful ship and win. Then you can have bragging rights. I recently challanged a guy in a Saber .... I was all over him in my Falcon... he ended up running with his tail between his legs.... darn he got a way.... I may try out an Eagle or a Saber just to see if I like them. I think though it really comes down to this.... the best ship for you is the one that you are most confident in...

The Banshee is a great ship. Just a step down from the Falcon. Try flying a level 30 mission out of freeport 2 and see how she does. I am sure it can be done but will give you a real run for your money. Or better yet try a one on one with a guy in a Saber like I did with my Falcon. Cores i'm not stupid enough to say that I can beat anyone in a Saber with a Falcon, or even a Banshee. But it was a good feeling to see the guy run like heck. I took his sheilds out twice and started on his armor but the Saber has alot of sheild batts and nano bots. It wold take a while to wear him down for sure. By the way I have no weppon above a level 6 on my Falcon and a level 6 sheild. I could cut up sheild and armor with level 8 weppons if I could find some hehe.

I have a character with a Falcon, and we are loving it. A pair of Angelitos up front, two Kracken (type 2?), an advanced debilitator, and an advanced debilitator turret.
Another fantastic (and cheap!) ship is the Drake. There are some pilots who can take out an Eagle or Titan in their Drake without blinking.
But, some of us need those beefy hulls to make up for our crappy piloting skills.

I'm pretty new to Freelancer, and I've heard a lot about the Drake(been killed by one once) and I was wondering what made it such a good ship. I've flown it, but only against NPC's. And what loadout would be best to use against Positron shielded ships, in a Drake, Hawk, Banshee and Falcon. I don't like the Eagle, it makes it to easy.

back to topic... i would say this about that.
- take 1 cannonball launcher (non-stalker) (same place as the firestalker)
- take 1 firestalker missile launcher (stalker)
- take 2 tilzona del cid (shield busters, class 9) (tripoli shipyard)
- take 2 flak cannons (recomandable is the GMG class 9, high speed, high firerate, high damage a sec) (sigma-13, naha miner)
- sunslayer torp (most dam a launch) (bruchsal base)
- ripper mine (most damage off the mines and homing)
- adv. countermeasure (for better look by mines)

but i don't use that at all, co'z i'm flying a defender

If u c some1 in a defender make fireballs from hunters it can be me

Good post, has made me think I should switch down to a centurion... I love powerful Corsair ships, but sometimes my flying cow just seems too easy...
