Usually i head north from liberty. Not picking a good/bad path as such, keeping my rep fairly static by taking missions for the good guys but also blowing the hell out of any of their cargo ships i see for loot

By the time you get to kusari you should have enough cash to get started in your chosen career. I think it makes a good starting point cause liberty and bretonia are pretty crappy with regards to guns/ships/equip to buy whereas rhineland is good but has some enemies that can be problematic early on. Personally i would buy a hawk/drake and get my ass to a pirate base, hoist the jolly roger and start lane hacking You can just as easily become a cop/scavenger or trader from this point tho, hopefully the journey from libery should have given you a clue as to which you would prefer. Enjoy.

I do this on a new server unless I have a character in place that I can transfer funds from.

1. shoot enough police to get the lanehackers Neutral.
2. then I can safely do my 4 point trade route with no hassle except for the occasional Drop cargo.

Manhattan take Lux Goods to Planet Honshu
Planet Honshu take Engine parts to Mactan - Lane hackers base
Mactan take consumer goods to Planet New london
Planet New london back to Manhattan with Lux foods.

I have a pretty good trade route. Only you need to be neutral to hackers for this to be good I think. Once you have enough money for a rhino filled with boron, take it to LD-14 in Leeds, then head out to Mactan and buy a dromedary. Head to New London, lux foods -> Manhatten. Manhatten lux goods -> Ainu Depot, hokkaido (GC base, they should start neutral, might ask for cargo every now and again, too much cardamine mabye) The Cardamine to Roppongi (Newark station for Planet New Tokyo) Then bring luxury goods back to ainu, cardamine roppongi, etc.

when you start the mp,go directly to kusari sector, nobody there will be hostile to you. make some money(roppongi,luxury consumer goods <-->ainu station, cardamine).
then you can buy some good rep.

wen i start a new game i instantly go to the badlands and check the wrecks most ppl miss them and 1 of them has 20 cardimine that 30,000 credits for free if u sell it at manhatten, that should be a good start for any player then i go through the colerado jump hole and kill the xenos at their nearby base, fill about 100 or so xenos and everyone will be mostly neutrall then u can do those high profit trade runs from manhatten to anui and back
