wellllll, some might consider what i'm going to say cheating or some might consider it... improvising. i'd like to think of the glass as half full.
first download the mod manager, then download/purchase nomad battle ship, strip it off of its turrets, then go back to your old fighter, then download/purchase nomad light fighter and get nomad lasers and nomad torpedo, then go back and purchase your old fighter again. at the end, IMHO eagle has proven to be the most agile VHF. pretty much all but the few VHFs you can do one shot = one kill with every single regular ship, even when you're in the middle of 3 wings of nomad fighters or 3 wings of corsair titans (titans do require 2 shots at them) do believe me if you keep moving around and place those shots accurately each time you fire, they have no chance. of course one would argue that their refire rate is only 1.0 which kinda sucks, but chances are if you kill one ship to direct your ship to the other enemy fighter would take more time than " 1.0 "
just keep in mind that you never leave planet manhattan in thosenomad ships otherwise no place including the planets in unknown systems accept your request to dock. just do all the purchases on mahnattan, once you get what you want then leave with another regular ship.
any opinions (besides cheating /improvising part) ?
nomad laser stats= hull d = 1956, shield d= 978 range= 600 projectile speed= 750
refire rate= 1.0 energy used= 0
nomad turret stats= hull d = 2000, shield d= 1000 range= 4000
projectile speed= 1000 refire rate= 1.0 energy used= 0
nomad torpedo (not homing torpedo) stats= hull d = 163, shield d= 81
range= 1635 projectile speed= 109 refire rate= 1.0
energy used= 0 (torpedo specs may look really bad, unless it's a slow moving, weak target it's virtually useless, however again think of the glass as half full, it's one extra weapon that spends no energy, cost nothing to fire, and well... nice to look at if you fire a series of them)

while it's true that there are some regular lvl 10 weapons that do more damage in terms of damage times refire rate, if you piss off bounty hunters, red hessians, and corsairs, ALL at the same time in one of the systems that you may see all three such as the system with leon base and freepost ( 5 i believe), those weapons that use energy won't help you much. if you've gotten to level 38 and 3 wings of nomads seem like no challenge, go to the system with leon base stay closer to the freeport and in between leon and omicron gamma jump hole, after making sure hessians, bounty hunters and corsairs are your enemies, then don't kill any of their ships, just keep evading missiles, and weapons, once it looks like you're in a bee hive with dozens of angry bees, then start shooting. if you can make it you might just wish non-exist "level 39" was like that.
