Nomads are a pushover?!

Nomads are a pushover?!

I just finished the single-player campaign, and...say what? That's IT?! That's all they had?! With no shields and no missiles, nomad intercepters are a joke. Just side-strafe and stutter your afterburner and they will NEVER hit you. It's amazing. I had much more trouble fighting the corrupted Kurasi and Liberty forces in the last few missions than I had fighting the Nomads in level 13.

Did anyone else experience this? The last battle seemed pretty anti-climactic to me.

Ah well, building up my character afterward is the most fun bit anyway...

True, the Rheinlanders put up a much bigger fight than the Nomads!

But later on when you face them again in those unknown systems, the story is different...those fighters have good weapons and quite hard to fight when they hit you at the same time...
There are something strange about nomads...those systems don't have any hostile planet for the nomads to sattle, then where are they come from?

yeah i know, lol. maybe someone should try to follow them to where they came from. as in, watch them come, kkill em, then go to where they came from. maybe ill try later.

I dont know but maybe they only dock onto the Nomad Battleships? Or perhaps the Interceptors are just ships that come out of the Battleships?
Much like the small 'flies' that fly out of the battleships in the Starcraft game of the Protoss biggest flying ship. They are expendable and therefore they dont need shield. The battleship just keep pumping out the interceptors to engage you, but it doesnt in the game, cos if it does, it would be almost impossible to destroy the battleship, isnt it?

the nomads are all easy even the lv 18/19s are easialy killed using afterburners

One thing that I wanna know is can you fight any Nomad battleships after the end of the campaign? I havn't got any Battleship kills (not for lack of trying-people kept stealing my Nomad capital ship kills!) and I really want to get some!

Not unless you mod the game. The only nomads you run into after the SP campaign are the small interceptors.

havent you paid attention to the cinematics? they mention that hte nomads are the gaurdians of a race that mysteriously dissapeared. The nomads were created to protect something... i forget what...

Yeah, the nomads in unknown are much harder than the pussy ass SP ones. Rememeber this when you meet them

@Etherial : No nomad battleships without mod like Neo-Archaic says. Doesnt matter tho cause i dont think nomad battleships count as battleship kills anyhoo.

They dont look cool either. When I first saw one I was like why are they flying a glass ship at me... It mus reflract my laser. But no boom boom ad there dead. Whats with them? They are pushovers!

Yea The Nomad Fighters (wich you can engage after ypu finished the single player missions) are much better and there weapons are real hardhitters.

Even with my Titan and the shield I have...dont remember the name...i bought it for 320 000 though...even with all my equipment they still take some damage on the Titan...

But Hey....I use the DiamondBack, Wyrm 2 and Golden Blade and theyre nuttin but alien scraps waiting for the next generation of bad Mommas to come pick them up...

damn nomads....im gonna try to follow them in "their homesystem" (and I mean the unknown system) and look where tha hell they come from...

and now I gotta feed my guiena pig...

and Titan gotta be the most pretty ship after the Drake...(I actually made it all the way to the Titan ship and gather all the money for the Titan with just the drake....a little boastin there...lol...)....

damn the guinea pig...

With that kind of weapon system, wont it drain your power pretty fast?
I'm using a combination of Tachyon/Photon weapons and already it drain my power pretty fast with the Titan.

Btw, the Nomad Fighters, is it the only kind? Or are there alot of types of Nomad ships?

i think the nomads respawn after they get killed in a different area. when you play mp the whole universe doesnt actualy gets activated. only those ships that are in range of your sight are able to move/trade or do anything everything else goes blank to save you and everyone else bandwidth on what each object is doing. "respawn" technique is the most logical to look at sence it keeps all the bad guys and the good guys have same ammount of ships at all times, one dies and respawns only to die again. if it was otherwise, the game would not be possible to play with say pirates having too many ships and overwhelm police and have hundreds of ships lidend up fiering away by a police planet terminating players and cops. (checks and balances) when i flew to the mactan base to have some fun, i was hostile and was flying around the base shooting down all the outcast and hackers ships but they would just respawn from the base.. i killed atleast 150 ships coming out of the mactan base. there is absolutely no way so many ships can fit in that base with the ship's physical parameters. like i sad yearlyer whaver you kill, just respawns in a different out of sight area then comes in range and attacks again.
