Make millions in minutes w/o trading/killing
If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

There is a big bug in the game that I found. There are several shipwrecks in the game that will give you loot every time you go back to them. You just need to leave the system (go to a different system or dock with a planet/base), then go back and it will be reset. Three such ships are the Pathfinder, the Hosho Maru, and one of the Escorts of the Hosho Maru in the Omnicron Beta system. If you loot all three of those ships and sell at Ruiz base, you will make well over 200,000 credits for each trip and you don't have to kill anything or take long trade routes to do so. You also don't need to trade in your sleek fighter for a bulky freighter either. Enjoy all you soon to be level 38's
This is also the case with all of the wrecks in Omega-7. I've mentioned this in several other threads... but I get the impression that most people prefer not to repeatedly exploit what is clearly a glitch... after all, it does rob your enjoyment of figuring out ways to legitimately make money.
This "bug" is actually an oversight (it's gotta be) the game developers made in the system .ini files for Omicron Beta and Omega-7 where they didn't set the "visit" flag on the wrecks correctly. I corrected these flags on the wrecks in my .ini files, and now the wrecks don't repeatedly drop their stuff. These aren't the only glitches in the system .ini files, either. For example, I also fixed a problem where the nebulas don't appear on the map in Omicron Theta. Oops.

Pinger,
I assume you made it to Flight Captain by writing here a lot in stead of playing the game a lot. Otherwise, you would have known that...:
...it is possible to be on friendly terms with the Outcasts. This means that they will not shoot at you.
...the Ruiz base, where Garibaldi sells his loot, is actually owned by the Outcasts. Guess this means that he is not on hostile terms with the Outcasts?
...even if the above were not true, you can still survive entering hostile systems. I have been in hostile Corsair space in a Class 4 freighter.
...there is a mode called single player. This mode do not depend on a server.

Well read the topic again "Make millions in minutes w/o trading/killing" to get Outcast freindly requires atleast a 140k rep hack or alot of police/GMG/bounty hunter killing.
So someone goes to check this out and suddenly finds **** Outcast System, where ever you look there are Outcast patrols. Your never further than 10k from a patrol/weapons platform and or base. Let alone the GMG and Bounty Hunters as well, that is if you started killing them to get the Outcast freindly.
Side note wtf has a post count got to do with how much someone has played the game? I played the game for 1 week offline and 2 weeks online before I even started posting.
Playing on about 8 servers in total, 6 of which have dissappeared so loosing lvl 30+ characters from each totaling too many lost online hours.

Being on friendly terms with Outcasts is very easy, they hate Xenos. And once you're neutral with them, friendly is not an expensive hack (all the way from hostile would be expensive). Anyway, the nature of this "bug" with the loot on the wrecks in Omicron Beta and Omega-7 does require the server to be restarted in MP games before the wrecks will drop the stuff again; but in SP you can loot them over and over. Loot, sell stuff at closest base, go back out and loot again, sell, repeat ad nauseum. It's a glitch. Try it for yourself if you're so doubtful.
Pinger,
The reason I mentioned your post count was that it is a little unusual to see this kind of insults and lack of game knowledge from a Flight Captain.
1. It is not difficult to be neutral to Outcasts. Raiding a few storage depots outside Manhattan would probably suffice, if my memory is correct.
2. You do not have to worry about newbies following the advice. The system is not on their map.
3. I have read the topic again. I cannot see your point. When we compare profit/hour for trade routes in this forum, noone claims that the time spent on purchasing a Dromedary should be included in the calculation. When a profit per hour is stated, it is well understood by everybody, that you have to be at a certain stage in the game: Own the right ship, be friendly to the right factions, be in the right system etc. This is not different.
