I assume you mean the graviton shields that the Bounty Hunter Hammerheads have, sure they have a higher shield rating (nearly 11,000 IIRC) but their recharge rate is an almost nonexistant 1.

All AI ships have shields with practically zero recharge rates.

It depents on what you mean my 'best'. as you might of noticed that difrent shields are good for diffrent wepons. the highest best gravitron shield (level can only be gotten (I know that's not a word but it should be) by buying the titan. there is a level 9 shield that is good but I forget the name or where you get it..

yes, but while those shields are good, there is about a 1000 hit point difference between them and the Brigandine. So even if you were being hit with a weapon that is good against the Brigandine, it will still account to less overall damage than if you had one of the other two.

why is there such a BIG difference between gravitron and positron.. I dont get it I got this Aegis sheild for fitting level 7 humpback and a protector gravitron sheild.. the difference in hitpoints and recharge rate is extremely far almost 6000 hp for gravitron and almost 5000 for positron and the recharge rate is 13X for gravitron and 8X for positron.. why is that so? wasnt positron suppose to be better against tachyon weps?

Regen rate is a constant for all player shields at all class levels, it is always 1/45th of capacity per time unit, whatever that time unit may be. Graviton shields have 1/3rd more capacity than Positron or Molecular shields at a given class level. Why do they have more capacity? Well, this is my theory: when you first start out in both SP and MP, the only shields immediately available to you are low-level Graviton shields, so maybe the devs decided they needed a boost to keep rookie players from getting frustrated by deaths. This boost was applied across the board to all class levels of Graviton shields, and because shield capacities increase exponentially with class level, the capacity became too large at high levels; so they just capped the Graviton shields you could acquire at class-8. But it's just a theory, only the devs know for sure.

Would be nice if there were a player-usable graviton/positron class 10 shield on par with the brigandine.

But you know what would be better?

A class 10 Order shield that protects specifically against Nomad weapons.

you can pick up the level 10 sheild at leon base in Omega 41. It's a little over 300,000, so bring some cash. BTW, leon base is in sector 6D, in case u need to know.

actually there already are all 3 level 10 shields in the game, yet DA decided to make only the positron (brigadine) shield buyable.

with a little modding you can buy the other two ones aswell (the gravition one has ~11000 shield points).

shield02_mark10_hf = molecular
shield03_mark10_hf = graviton

Yes, even the c10 Graviton gets the 1/3rd boost in capacity, just like all the other class levels, as I said. But because it's so much at that level is probably why the devs made it and the c9 one unavailable. They might have been wiser to scale the capacity differently, so that there was a stronger boost for the Graviton at low levels, tapering away to no boost at c10, so all the c10 shields would have the same capacity, and all could be available for purchase, and no one would be left wondering why they aren't there.
