More info on Unique Weapons

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

More info on Unique Weapons

Does anyone have any additional information on the unique weapons you can salvage from shipwrecks? I usually mount 4 different types of them on my ship as well as a tachyon (or neutron) gun and a particle turret just to be effective against all my enemies. But if there was a way to tell if they were tachyon, particle, photon, etc..., I could use only the ones that would do the most damage to my enemies. I would also like to know if anyone has found out what kind of weapons the Nomad guns are. I am planning on just arming my ship with only one pair of unique guns and seeing how each performs against different enemies with different shields. But if someone has already done that and has an educated guess, or if someone has found out by some other method, I would certainly like to know.

When you get class 10 guns, don't even bother worrying about the shield it's best against. Just a pair of them will bash down just about any combination of shields and armor any AI will use. The best damage comes from DIAMONDBACKs, CEREBUSs, and Nomad guns. But it doesn't matter all that much, since all of them totally outclass every other gun in the game.

Reaper: $200,000,000.
Rockets: $100,000
The look on that pilot's face when you launch a full pod of screamers up his tailpipe: priceless

I've fooled around with all the weapons and also the Titan and the Sabre. Here's what I have found works best for me: I used the Titan for a long time, until I read someone say that it drove like a truck. It does. So I traded it in on a Sabre. The Sabre can be fitted with the same Adv Brigantine shield as the Titan plus it has the added advantage of mounting the turret horizontally so that it can fire forward, thus givining you in effect one more gun than the Titan has. And it is much more manuverable as well. I use 4 nomad blasters and two Tizona Del Cid's plus one Rapier Turret. That combo knocks down shields pretty fast and the fact that the nomad blasters don't use any energy allows me to shoot constantly if I need to. Also, the strategy guide says that the aiming retucule averages the firing rates to aim, so if all your weapon firing rates are the same, you get an absolute aim point. All the above weapons are the same rate. Some of those big energy hungry class 10's fire at 2.00! IF you combine that with somthing that fires at 8.33 you have an aiming mess. All mine fire at 4.00. Hope this helps you

I thought it was projectile speed that changed your aiming? Not fireing rate.
