Get in too cruise from the start, but BUT dont pass him until near the end or your ship will get nudged by his at one or more gates. Wait for his Mistake and then pass him.

get a steady ship.. one that won't turn too quickly but quick enough. i used a defender. get into cruise first thing. try remapping your keys so that cruise can be engaged with a single button. if you'r lucky, you'll start off in cruise speed fsater than him. then turn and make a straight beeline for the waypoint. repeat.. when it comes to the hard bits, concentrate and get throught the hoops as fast as possible. i beat hovis the first quarter of the race, so if i can do it, you should be able to. his missiles that he shoots when you beat him never got to me. i finished before the missiles even got to me. thats how much space there was between me and him.


This is currently registered with the FAA as a glider, and according to FAA records, it has no engine - which is technically true, if you ignore that large rocket in back.
