Equipment vs Performance

Maybe it's just me. Does the amount of unmounted weapons and shields and such affect ship performance like stored cargo does? I'm a level 35 Eagle driver with many c10 guns and 8, 9 and 10 shields unmounted. It seems my Eagle has a little slower response then it first had. Is that possible or do I just need new points and plugs and an oil change?

Never noticed that myself, cause for fun I annoy the Bruschal base and pick up any weapons, so usually have a full cargo hold and lots of free weapons and dont notice a slow down.
