What does ' warning sensor effecienty decreased' mean?

You sometimes hear a voice say it,but no warning sign shows up on the screen

Is it something dangerous ?

Uh, perhaps it decreases sensor effeciency?

Basically, it means you can only see ships on your contact list at about 2k, instead of 4.9k.
