Did i miss something?

During the single player campaign, i completed the rescue mission with the rheinland order agent, and docked with the osiris (Swweeeeet looking ship). next thing i know i am on a rescue mission to save the liberty president and am being called Colonel Trent by Orillion (Is he Morpheus or What... get the man some mirror shades!) Did i miss something? like maybe a load of missions? as the single player game just seemed over waaay too fast, as about four/five missions later i am taking out the dyson sphere (way too easy, only died once because i hit g by mistake and lost control of my ship... too busy wondering why i had lost control to see the wall in front of me)
Any ideas what i did wrong/right?
Have i missed any missions? (I certainly hope so as if not the continuity people need shooting... i mean talk about a quick promotion!)

Maybe you quit the game without saving it first,if you resume the game later it could skip ahead to the next autosave which you didn't play yet :s

Same thing happened to me when I forgat to save, but not such a big piece, just played it from last manual save I made.

how on earth could it skip ahead to an autosave it hasn't yet made?... or did i misunderstand that.

i am not talking about one mission here, or even a subset in a mission, it feels like i have missed half a careersworth of flying time, as i have suddenly gone from "Freelancer" to "Colonel Trent"...

As an aside for info i played through the single player campaign in one sitting, just to get it out of the way, as i have been playing MP since release over here. It can't be a save error as i didn't even drop out of the game for breaks, just paused it for a while. It didn't crash out on me once, and i never exited the program until i left manhattan after the whole "Eyes and ears of the order" bit from Orillion.

you didn't miss anything...that's the way it was. Trent gets promoted as soon as he got on the Osirus.

It's basically a field promotion to the rank of Colonel (well, if you are gonna be conscripted, you might as well be conscripted to a high rank!), so if need be, he can boss around pretty much everyone in the Order who isn't part of the command staff (Orillian and his immediate subordinates at a guess)!
I don't really think they (DA) thought that through, they just wanted to give Trent (and us players I suppose) a reason to fight for the Order and not just try and go it alone anymore.

We don't really own this place, just break a few arms if we have to - Bounty Hunter Mitch Murphy, Bonn Station.
