Which is the coolest ship?

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Valkyrie all the way. If I could put L10s on it, I'd keep it. I earned my first kill on a VHF (Sabre) on it in Omega-41 yesterday. 2 torpedoes, and a ton of Angelito IIs put that Red Hessian into scrap metal...

why does nobody seem to like the kusari ships? they're elegant, fast, and....well.......classy. They're like death-spewing machines in art form. They rule, especially the kusari gunship.....

am i the only one who likes them????

I don't like ships with dragon wings. Getting used to the Bretonian fish tails was enough. The Kusari HF has a certain beauty to it, though...but I wouldn't fly it after seeing how easily the wings come off.

Reaper: $200,000,000.
Rockets: $100,000
The look on that pilot's face when you launch a full pod of screamers up his tailpipe: priceless

Would have to say Anubis and the hawk.

Those red engines look so damn cool I wish all the ships had them. And the Hawk reminds me of the hammerheads from Space: Above and Beyond.

The coolest ship in the game is Stiletto. Anubis is also very cool.

For me, the Falcon. Why the falcon, you ask? Well, the Eagle has a billion fins sticking out of the back of it, none of which serve any purpose except to make it look like a pissed off bird during mating season. The Kusari ships all look like things I have in my aquarium, the Bretonians like things I would flatten with my shoe, and Liberty... actually Liberty fighters are fairly decent. Bounty hunter craft look too insubstancial, Rheinland ships remind me of some techno/goth fan... too anime-ish(just look at the humpback. How the HELL would that thing get aloft in atmosphere?)... The outcast-designed fighters are ok... and the pirate fighters just scream patchwork design, so I don't mind them so much...

I've only been playin freelancer for a bit and im on mission 9 so far, in a defender, it's my fav ship for looks. But it c*** as soon as you get to like mission 6. I need a new ship.

The anubis looks good, and in my opinion all the freighters look mutated, apart from the clydsale (wateva) which, DOES look like a moth.

Also the valkyrie looks ok, the circle thing on the back gives it a bit of a style, and after 4 of em attacked me i wanted one.

As a question: anyoneone know where you can get a dragon, cords please, thx.

Kris- Any Kusari battleship.

Fav looking FTR- Anubis- classic 'Viper stylings. Thin the wings out and realign the engines and I'd change my name to Apollo or Starbuck.

Transport - Train. Not so much for the looks, but watching them try to manuver makes me lauch every time. I get in thier way just for the amusement factor.

I like the Hawk's sleek design along with the reverse style wings.

Although its a bit weak so i fly the Eagle because of its power and manuverability.

Personally, I like the way the Sabre looks. You know with the curvy things connecting its wings with the secondary engine and the thruster on the left of that column that connects the body of the ship to the secondary engine. Thats cool.

By the way, I was on a base, and the base was selling a Dagger, and I was in a Sabre. On the middle screen where it shows what the ship looks like, if you click on the Dagger, and then on the Sabre, you can see that they just added a bottom part to the Dagger. I haven't tried this yet, but doesn't the Stilleto look a lot like a combination of the Dagger and Sabre? Like with only the secondary engine without the curvy wing things? I don't know, but I just thought it was cool.

I have done this (by changing what a base sells). If you do this with all the faction fighters. You will see the same thing. The Eagle is a modification of the Falcon; the Titan is the modification of the Centurion; the Sabre is the modification of Dagger and Stiletto; the Dragon is an extension of the Drake; the Valkyrie is....so on and so forth.

While it does give a certain style to each faction, I still prefer a more varied designs.

"While it does give a certain style to each faction, I still prefer a more varied designs."

On the other hand, it reflects how commercial lines are developed and sold. The continuity in basic design lines makes a brand unique.

For instance, if Toyota and Honda were each to make a new car, then show them off to test subjects, chances are every one of them who hasn't been living in a hole in the ground could pick out who made which car. It's not something you can describe easily in words, it's perception of the package as a whole.

Most manufacturered goods follow this pattern. It would feel absolutely unreal to me if there were this many ships to choose from, and every ship was completely different.

As for my favorite ship design, that would have to be the Corsair Legioniarre. Simple, yet extremely efficient space design, which means it's the smallest target in the entire game. It's so thin and short, not even the Starflier has a smaller targetable area. You have to fly over top or under it to even get a shot, no easy tail kills here.

It also has the power to handle maxed-out weapons, unlike some light fighters. So even though the weapon slots are 5/4, it's not a problem because you really can plug in a 5/4 combo without bleeding your batteries dry.

the titan for it's sheer power

I dont know i really like the titan because it looks cool in strength.

The anubis is also cool looking with the engines and the name.
