In one of the missions (where you meet sinclair and the Rheinlanders first decloak) Juni says somthing along the lines of 'even liberty never managed to et them to work...'. please cast your thoughts back to an earlier game by Digital anvil---StarLancer, and to a certain aliance fighter--- the Shroud---WITH A CLOAKING DEVICE. The shroud was given to all of the alliance carriers, so why hasn't liberty and all of the other factions retained the tech?

ps. Does the Valkyrie look like a Wolverine to you?

The Shroud technology is outdated. It's over 800 years old. The most basic sensors can defeat it, so they eventually just stopped bothering with cloak. Now the Rheinlanders however, managed to create a next-gen cloaking.

Btw, Shroud was a Japanese counterpart of the Russian Basilisks, stolen and retrofitted from the Coalition. Only Japanese squadrons have access to it. 45th Flying Tigers had the privilege of being a mixed-nationalities squadron, based on the Yamato, a Japanese carrier, and a sister squadron to the Ronins, other than having achieved Ace Squadron status and Platinum technology clearance. That's why they had access to the Shroud. If anyone inherited the Shroud cloaking technology, it should be the Kusari, not the Liberty, like you claimed.

ummm, do a search on cloak or cloaking and you should be able to come up with quite a few posts on cloaking technology and freelancer...

but there really isn't anything that you can purchase in the game, it really only for NPC's in the single player storyline... but someone might be able to get it functional through the use of a mod...

even though it was a prototype, isnt the osiris cloakable? it works too. and didnt the order steal it before all the mess happened? just wondering

gee, that guy's cool.
