Some editing ideas

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Some editing ideas

Felt it belonged here rather than editing for now.

Lemme know what you think for some spur of the moment stuff.

-Multiple level ships. Say, a Valkirye that can equip class 10 weapons, and a Valk that can't, but can turn faster, or a Valk can't equip class 10's but has multiple torpedo slots to act as a bomber. Diffrent speeds and equipment limits on each, each costing a diffrent amount. Obviously if it can equip class 10's, it'd cost quite a bit (all ship prices would go up if this were implimented)

-Diffrent top speeds for diffrent ships. Ships are too clear cut right now; the Eagle is better than the Sabre cause it turns faster....well let the Sabre be able to outrun the Eagle then.

-(this one is impossible but hey, wishful thinking) Astroid mining ships. I've seen some that are the size of a freighter cutting into astroids. Well let them be pilotable, and let them mine at a very high rate. Make mining useful. Latch onto astroids and bring home a full load of silver or something.

-Start players out with everyone neutral, with the Navy and Corporations up on the brink of friendly, and pirates on the brink of hostile. Make it ALOT easier for people to choose what they want to do rather than force them. Or just make it all 100% neutral to begin with.

Feedback? If I get some realistic ideas I'll go finding some people to help edit this stuff into the game.

No funny sig. Deal.

It all sounds pretty good to me. I especially like the ideas of varying ship stats and 100% neutral reps. IMHO it's ridiculous that in MP your rep is predetermined. I can see it being that way after SP, I guess, but in MP you should start with a clean slate so you can build up your character with complete freedom from the get go.

Anyway, I say it's a good plan!

Great idea man. Sounds good to me. Would make the game a lot funier and improve the clan atmosphere. Though the members can specialise themselfs...one is Bomberpilot the other a "heavy gunner" others beeing scouts etc.

Now i wish it would be possible to own stations. that would make the game really great. it's getting boring lately. there are no need of weapontweaks or something. Different Ship types, Clanowned bases and stuff are great. So we can really get into the game.

You know, I had this AWESOME idea but I forgot to post it, and now I forget it.

Player/clan owned stuff would be fresh, but it'd all have to be server side stuff. So it all gets tricky.

If players could own factories or bases it would create an actual player economy. Right now it's just give away guns or sell class 10's. There's gotta be a real economy to make even more fun.

Also, torps need to do REAL damage for chrissakes, and bases need to be destroyable in some way, shape or form. Just give'em tons of HP.

EDIT: Just remembered. Make the Order a real faction. Have encounters rare but in every system. Make Anubis purchasable for a reasonable price (around that of a Valk, if not more), and well, might as well make it buyable in Unknown #2 with the Primate and Robot planets just to make it easy. It wouldn't make much sense to have monkeys sell it, but

a) it's an Order planet it seems anyway
b) it's nice and out of the way and hidden and woudl take some work to get to.

I'm sure everyone wants the damn Anubis anyway, so WHY NOT PUT IT IN THERE!
