It's not a junker turret laser, but a special one-time only laser turret that you can pick up in Missions 3....at least, that's what happened with me.

On your way to California Minor to meet Juni (after going to Manhatten and finding out she isn't there), take the Jump Gate to California. There is a person named Brandon Rowlett that is waiting for you on the other side of the Jump Gate. After the short cut scene, blast away at the three rogue navy patrol ships (difficult!), and the turret should be yours.

Actually, I'm not too sure about needing to blast the navy patrol. That's what I did, and after the dust had settled, I tractored everything in, and then noticed that I had picked up the turret. It's entirely possible that the turret was already there floating in space during the fight, but I just didn't notice it.

It's not really just a great turret, but I suppose it's decent enough for early level types who like lasers. Just sell it for some cash in California Minor.

YEAH! Ill have to do that. Makes scence. Rowletts REVENGE. For killing them. I was gonna 1 time but I left them alone cuz I wasnt in the mood to be shot at by a trade lane. To annoying.
