Random Missions

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Random Missions

Hey guys, hope you can answer this question for me.

I've finished the SP campaign, and I'm over level 30 right now (that's right, I cheated - but I don't play on MP servers, so hope you can forgive me); I can't seem to find random missions that are over Level 16 or so. Where can I find those high level missions that I keep hearing about? Also, what's the point of the Sunslayer torpedo when you can't possibly buy them before finishing the SP campaign, and none of the regular bases/battleships are destructible?

Thanks a lot for your help

Bad....u shouldn't cheat. Anyway if you join the corsairs, or outcasts, or go to Freeport 5 you'll find hard missions. The Sunslayer Torpedo is at the Bruchsal Base in Frankfurt owned by the Bundschuh.

As for what the deal is with the sunslayer: by the time you get one, it's useless.

From the get-go it's useless against fighters, because it's so slow.
Once you get some good weapons, you're doing a couple sunslayers worth of damage just on the initial joust.

I guess my reaction time is just getting too slow in my old age, necessitating such reprehensible (cheating) behavior to enjoy modern games.

Thanks for your answers guys. I don't have any particular desire to join the Corsairs or the Outcasts (killed too many of them), so I guess my only option is to go to Freeport 5 (wow, that's gonna take an hour).

Now here I was looking forward to destroying some friggin battleships. Darn sunslayer.

Ah, yes. The mods. I wonder how much Liberty would like me if I blew up the Missouri... Not too much is my guess.

Man, I feel like this game is such a great FRAME for a great game. It all feels so incomplete. I like it a lot but wish I could love it more. (more ships, custom ships, more nuanced factions, more interesting random missions, more cool little eggs to find, capital ships, ability to own property, more interactive planets...).

They should make this the Sims in Space! Now with Combat! Bring on the expansion packs.

This is a good game, could be improved...

If it took some hints from Hardwar (property buying).
And Freespace 2 (more in-depth fighting)

Would be an excellent game.

Also a bit of Hardwars buisness aspect wouldn't go amis...

And fully customisable ships would be crackin ! (obviously with some limitations)

All in all i'm enjoyin it though

methodmadness,

Most any omicron systems have much higher levels then 16. I have read some people get 230 k offers for missions. I have gotten 36 level missions with 140 k tops so far ( Omicron Alpha )

random missions should have more variety like attack and defend a transport convoy, defend a base for a certain amount of time - that would be better than just killing ships

Again, thanks for the help! :-)

I guess my point was that seeing as how this game seemed so incomplete and just wasting with potential, why don't they pull an EA style gimmick and put out expansion packs every year for the next 4 years?

The first one could be called "Freelancer - Livin' Large" and include more ships, more systems, more NPCs, more mission types, etc.
The second one would be "Freelancer - Ready to Rumble", where there are many more mission types of greater complexity, more complex combat controls as an option, wingmen you can hire in SP, pilotable capital ships, more fighter types, customizable fighters, etc.
The third would be "Freelancer - Starship Tycoon", and would incorporate a much more robust galactic economics/business model for you to exploit, with nuanced commodity prices, a stock market that reacts to YOUR actions, property, ownable businesses, etc.
And finally, "Freelancer - Civilizations", with more factions, more nuanced politics, the ability to join factions yourself, the ability to influence the power levels of various factions, etc.

But they would never do that... or would they?
