Few! This all so complicated! Well, I managed to find my to the Corsair bases but you were right when you sadi that those BH's are everywhere. And to top it all off I only have a Dromedary! Man this sucks... ok the Titan right? it costs like 700,000 plus credits. Man, how do you get that much money?!?! I saw that corsair missoin give upto and aboce 100,00 credits but in my dromedary I can't do any of 'em! Man I really messed up my save game. I have the BH's on my tail wherever I go, even on planet Crete! They camp right outside and snipe me when I pop up. Oh well, again I thank everyone for the feedback!

Well..if you're in a dromedary, there's a couple trade runs you should be able to do to get the cash you need...

Try the Diamond/Niobium trade from New Berlin to New Tokyo (Buy Diamonds at New Berlin, sell at Tokyo. Buy Niobium at Tokyo, sell at The Ring, which is right next to Berlin), or the Engine Comps/Some Other Commodity route from Berlin to Yangai (Buy Engine Comps at New Berlin, sell to Yangai Depot in Sig13. Buy whatever thingy sells well at Berlin, sell at Berlin).

Both routes offer really quick cash.

To get the BH to like you, just check around at non-criminal bases..there's generally bribes somewhere around there. That or check the Rep-Hack list up top.

There's probably a bounty hunter bribe awaiting you in any of the freeport's, my best advice is if you want to shoot the bounty hunter's, DO SO WISELY. You don't want them pissed off to the point they will jump you everywhere or you won't be going anywhere fast...
Any of the freeport's should find you a bounty hunter bribe

To really enjoy you stay in the Corsair systems you don't want to make enemies with the Bounty Hunters. They patrol those systems. Your best bet is to take out the Red Hessiens (sp?) until your rep is neutral with the Corsairs. Planet Crete is like a home away from home for me as everyone in the system is my friend.

Of course, at the other end of Sirius I'm a wanted man. Even with a Titan or Eagle it's scary trying to enter Omicron Alpha or Beta.

But ulitmately I'd have to say that you are going about this the wrong way. In order to truely enjoy and get the most out of the game you should explore and chart your own way without this help of this forum. That' the way the game is meant to be played.

Oon-tee-dee!

Once you get your Titan, there are many places to explore and earn some serious cash (plus build a rep/kick the crap out of people.)

Try the Dublin System. In the lower left portion of the system is a Molly's Base - Arranmore Base. It sits in the best GOLD Field in the entire sector. Fly out there and slaughter every Molly ship you encounter. They drop weapons and sometimes cargos. You can make a good profit selling their stuff back on the Battleship Essex near the Jump Gate. You can also mine GOLD in between waves of Mollys. 70 pieces (your cargo capacity) can fetch a nice sum at the right base. Killing Mollys will put you in good with many factions (consult the faction relationship chart in the Downloads portion of this forum.)

Another super place (and my personal favorite so far) is in the Dresden System. Work out of the Daumann location: Leipzig Station. About 25K away is the Jump Hole to Omega 11 (upper left portion of the system.). Head towards the jump hole and you will encounter wave after wave of Red Hessians flying Stilettos. They come in groups of between 2 to 8 at a time. Virtually all of them are hauling goods. Each wave has something different, but it's not unusual to score Diamonds, Cardamine, Artifacts, and most importantly: Niobium. Leipzig Station pays 1600 for each piece of Niobium! A cargo hold full of those beauties will net you 112,000. And that's on top of the huge sum you'll make from all the level 6-8 weapons you will tractor in after sending the ships to that great scrap yard in the sky. Level 8 weapons usually sell for something around 16,000 a piece. Have a dozen or more of those on board, plus some level 7 (@ 7,000 a piece) and level 6 (around 2,500 a piece) weapons (not to mention the missiles, mines, thrusters, etc.) and you can see the possibilities.

30-40 minutes of smearing Red Hessians all over your cockpit and a quick run back to Leipzig should net you 350-500,000. Repeat this process as much as you like and your bank account will certainly grow in a short amount of time. You will also gain combat experience and become REALLY good friends of the Corsairs in the process.

There are many other great ambush places - have fun finding them!

I think cavok has pretty much covered my favoured method of getting cash
I never traded at any point in the game - probably an attitude i brought from elite, frontier and that crap one after frontier that killed the franchise - sticking with the opportunist ambushes for cash. Although to be fair i did chance upon that massive stash of lvl 10 weapons in one of the sirius systems, figured i would need 6 max and sold the rest to buy an eagle. Once u've got that surely you are quicker (and hav more fun) doing the 100-200k missions?
Or is there an element of trading my narrow mindedness has caused me to overlook?

If you're friendly with the corsairs, the artifact run from cadiz base to new london is both short and massively profitable. Just outrun the police if they scan you, it isn't hard. Usually you can just dock somewhere before they give you the ultimatum, and even if you don't it still takes them about 30 seconds to turn hostile. Plenty of time to dock or hit a trade lane.

My situation seems reversed. Most people here say they are friendly to the Corsairs and the Junkers. Me, my friends are on the opposite side of the Sirius Sector: Outcasts Omicron Alpha/Beta, and the Red Hessians. I can't get near the the Corsairs. They are vicious. Junkers are always a nuisance to me, never leave me alone and I can't get em to lighten the heck up. At least I'm neutral to the Rogues, Lane Hackers and several other criminal elements. Makes it possible to do the Cardamine runs into Manhattan. It is very dangerous when using a Dromedary... I actually sold my VHF Eagle for the Dromedary. I wanted to haul more cargo!!!

The only good thing about trading is if you're with a bunch of people. If not, it's simply a matter of running an extremely repetitive route over and over again in a ship that's generally too craptastic to fight with. Running in a large group of weak players for trading, though, is a helluva lot of fun. Then, you bring in a huge community aspect the game otherwise lacks. I mean, at no time is it really NECESSARY to have more than 1 person for any mission. Everything can be done pretty easily by a guy in an Eagle/Titan/Sabre. There should be, in my mind, missions that require you to do something crazy...like, say, a mission from Crete to knock out Nomads. But not just a few, noo - how about, say, 3 waves of 24 nomad interceptors? This would be, essentially, suicide for a single player, and damned hard at best for 2 together.

Post Tue Apr 15, 2003 2:57 am

The Nomads aren't so tough, their ships drop like flies. And my ship of choice is the Hawk, a medium-toughness light fighter. You might think 'a light fighter won't last two seconds'... but its all in the manoeuvrebility (if thats a word :S) . If you can maintain evasive manoeuvres while engaging a bandit, you'll survive longer than a heavy fighter.

I have two games going right now, one as an honest trader/mission taker, and one as a pirate. I base myself at Buffalo base as a pirate, in New York where the pickings are easy. And there's those containers near Fort Bush filled with H-Fuel that nice repair ships come and fix. And the cordamine run from Buffalo to Rochester. But just by making myself sworn enemies of the Liberty officials I've managed to rack up a decent rep with all the major pirate and terrorist factions, including the Corsairs. I'll never forget when they hated me and I ventured into their territory... I had no idea they had those Crusaders with their 9000-odd hulls and 100 weapons ports... I didn't even get a good look I ran so fast. And I had no countermeasures left at the end of it. I use those wasps so frequently in my pirating activities I rarely consider how angry it makes the pilot.

If you're going to become enemies with the Bounty Hunters, stick to the Kusari areas. The Bounty Hunters aren't allowed in there, at least if the rumour I heard is true. And it seems to be, I haven't seen any.
And I haven't actually seen any in the Border World territories either, though they're swarming all over the independant worlds. They even have a base or two there. The Corsairs would keep them busy, I'd imagine, in those incredibly powerful heavy fighters of theirs.

Post Tue Apr 15, 2003 3:29 am

Yah, in Kusari space I have plenty of friends. The only problem is getting there. You see, currently I got about 8 BH's hunting. Yah, sounds crazy, but they followed through like 4 jump holes! They all have VHF's and are all aces! Well, I guess I'll try headin' to the Kusari system iof that rumor's true about BH's not allowed there. Man... the only way I can get anywhere is when the Hessians and the Corsairs are fighting, both are friendly to me (weird eh?) and then they always fight off the BH's when I lure them towards the battles. Well thanks for all the advice guys! It's been more than helpful. I thought I'd never find a way outta here!
