Its a bug, they are supposed to attack you then you blow them up and then you head for cali, I cant remember how to fix this, you fix something else I know that....

Just ram them. Their health goes down but urs dosn't. This takes a while but it works. And u don't fail the mission.

Its a sound problem... but you knew that... check the tech issues sticky to fix it.

Here is what will you do........
Do not shot at them, whell shoot but only to reduce their shields, Be carefull not to shoot on the red line, just the blue.
After you reduced their shield you chrash in them. It will take a some time but it does count.........
