About reputation

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

About reputation

Most probably this had already been discussed. But since I don't bother to look for it in the past forum (no search functions) I'm posting it anyway.

I'm currently flying a Sabre, which I got from the outcast. Flew some mission for them, killed some bounty hunters, and now I have the outcast and corsairs to like me very much. But , half the factions in sirius is in red.

Went to the bundusch base to get the sunslayer, but hey, they won't sell it to me, so I blew up some rheinland military. Slowly the rheinland went from neutral to red, and the bundusch becomes green. Now I want to become friends with the rheinland, I started killing bundusch. This is what I noticed, the rehinland slowly goes to neutral and the bundusch goes to red. But when the bundusch becomes max red, no matter how much more of their ships I kill, it won't change my rep with any other factions.

So, I have to look for somebody else to kill. Later on I managed to get the rehinland police and military to like me, but have their allies, ALG and Samura god knows what still in red. Whenever they appear in the same region as I amand start to attack me, the green status rheinland fighters will become red and start to shoot at me too (darn!..even the bases which I just landed also shoots at me..)

In the end, I found out that killing some groups like Bounty Hunter and Xenos and then rebribe yourself to their factions will slowly make most factions green or neutral. Usually the police / navy won't disturb your conflict with the bounty hunters althought they are allies.

any comments on this or does anybody found something I overlooked?

When you come in range of a hostile faction ship or station, they will alert all their allied faction ships and stations in the vicinity to attack you as well regardless of your reputation with them (and thus will temporarily be red).

Hi, right now I'm on a mission to get my reputation to where most everyone is either neutral or friendly (with the exception of a few factions that don't matter much like the Xenos, Liberty Rogues, etc..).

And yes, it sucks trying to balance them out... I'm at the point where I just need ALG, IC (this one sucks to raise), and Red Hessians (yet while keeping Corsairs non-hostile).

I finished my exploring trip today so now I have a base count of 160 (for the oddest of reasons FL won't count the Battleship Essex in Dublin), total 161 visited. Virtually no enemies left except the Hogosha who were the only ones for a while and now the Corsairs again. It gets boring if nobody's around to attack you, I gotta admit. Will change that now by taking a few missions or loitering at bases to annoy certain factions. ;^)

Actually, among the central factions seem to be the Unioners though they allegedly have no allies. But I couldn't land on Dawson Base (Rogues) because every time I came along two Unioners were there, ruining my attempts. Until then, I had some enemies left. GC, Dragons, Mollys, Gaians, others just a tad off the red section. After bribing the sodden Unioners (believe me, I will visit their base again and wreak some havoc) the rep situation shifted a LOT. The Rogues popped from "almost red" to "mid white", Mollys and Gaians moved into the neutral range, Bundschuh and LWB "lost" three red markers, Hessians got better, almost any criminal faction responded to this bribe. It seems to be possible with only a few well-placed bribes to push most criminal organizations into neutral area. I paid for the Lane Hackers and the Unioners and assaulted approx. 120 Hogosha ships right at their base, that did it more or less.
