THERE ARE 2 BLACK HOLES...

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

THERE ARE 2 BLACK HOLES...

NOTE: This is also posted in the Discussion forum. I am also posting this in the spoilers section just incase it gets deleted.

Let me first say that this is not a spoiler. It is only logical information.
There are TWO black holes in Freelancer. None were fully completed by Digital Anvil.

THE FIRST BLACK HOLE: The first black hole is more of an Event horizon. As most of you might know, it is accesed by going to Omicron Gamma and going to sector 2F where there is an Unknown Jump Hole. There you will find Planet Primus (Home of the monkeys) and Planet Gammu (Home of the robots; are they evil robots?). Plus a infinite assortment of the good old Nomads. Note: you cant buy, go on missions, retrive information, or anything from the Monkeys and the Gammu Robots (evil robots?). Personally it is an easter-egg, not a mission bag.

THE 2ND BLACK HOLE: Very little is known about this black hole, except for all the good people over at Digital Anvil. I doubt it was finished in time for Freelancer's release, thus, no mention anywhere about it (although someone did post a forum about it). Yes, this is it. The big black hole with the red swirls (shown at E3). Ready.......It is in an unfinished system known as OMEGA-13. I did not belive it either. Since this was not finished in time, there is no KNOWN Jump-Gate or Jump-Hole to it. It could be possible that it is for the Freelancer expansion . However, why would this come out with Freelancer. Don't believe me? Goto your Freelancer directory, then DATA\SOLAR\BLACK HOLE\ (Seems obvious). I NEED YOUR HELP! How can we get to this mistery System? Can someone make a mod? Please respond. I hope this info is helpful to at least someone...

The Unknown has already been known by something else..

Omega 13 is not a system file, just properties of the black hole... which includes flying asteroid chunks and some other stuff that I didn't bother figuring out.

Perhaps you could add it to a existing system like as a planetoid? Or perhaps replace the neutron star with it?

the files mentioned are also comparable to nebulas....
perhaps they can be added to any system?

I've managed to partially recreate approach.jpg using some magic trickery (one billion futile attempts to get it right), but key elements, such as the jets and particle cloud, are missing - DA didn't include the textures and/or objects for those, suggesting they were deleted before FL's release.

Didn't you read the other posts? The textures are missing... so are the monkeys! (the monkeys? what monkeys?)

I must say that is one strange system.. I never went to the planets.
I was there long enough to get a load of nomad guns/canons..

*cough* ok guys, the black hole was in the beta for this game.

Omega 13 was in the game at some point in time... it was removed, (for those "reasons" and ya ya ya we know the rest.

The fact is, we could easily (well those of us who can mod, not me of course) mod that system BACK into the game.

In the Early Beta Pictures, they show ships flying near and around the black hole.

I wonder how the physics for it were worked out, I looked at all the system files in Notepad, and used a hex editor aswell, and seriously its more complex than the star files, so I really would like to see what they did for it.

Or you know, if someone has the beta they could just use that

Sadly enough Omega 13 was finished, but the fact was the way the game was set up, they would have had to re worked most of the origional formatting to make it litterally possible to make the blackhole work.

Now, basically the blackhole in the game is real, but as of yet no ones desided to take the time to put it into the game again.

one reason probubly being that it would be fairly hard to just put in a whole new system with a whole new planet object with a whole new graviation system without knowing exactly how the game would "Work" the system.

Its complicated, but interesting. Sooner or later someone will do it, then half the freelancer fan population will get addicted to trying to make it more and more realistic.

As of now im just triyng to find a unpacker/decoder that can read the 3D files and .data files that this game is using, and some of them are very hard to find.

What would be the point? This is all just hype. Say if someone were to add a system with a black hole, how long do you think one will lose interest in it? Afterall, it's just a hole in space... I doubt that they would implement special relativity just for the fun of it. It'll end up like any other planet, except you can't even dock on it.

Just look at the CGI shots... some things are better left for the imagination.
