Cannot level up after game end

Cannot level up after game end

I supposed I am finished(killed the nomads in their sun thing). Then I am supposed to get a job but my current worth is higher than my level requirement(level 18 or so). And even after finishing a mission, I dont get to level up. Help please.

to be even clearer; the lvl. up counter now shows how much MORE credits you need to level up; not how much you need in total.
