Thanks very much for the information,Tasiin, I have to conclude that it was enemy fire that blew one up before it reached its intended target, then. That makes me feel--slightly--less foolish, since I had been convinced that I'd wasted an expensive torpedo by being too careless with my guns.
Is that that the case with one's own missiles and mines, as well? In harried dogfights, it's sometimes hard to know whose you're gunning down, but I've been going to a lot of trouble to avoid firing into the area where I've launched missiles. Forces one to do a lot more evasive maneuvering than if premature destruction of one's own munitions isn't a worry. It sounds as if I needn't have gone to the trouble, hmm?
I'd check instead of asking, but the only computer I have that's capable of playing FL is at home, and I only get home on weekends. Which is probably a good thing: if I could play on my work PC, I'd not get a lot of work done, I'm afraid. Of course, it also means that I don't get any sleep on weekends. So productivity probably suffers anyway, but only on Monday mornings.
