Help - Stuck at level 36 (I know it sounds stupid)

I don't know what's going on, but I am stuck at level 36. I had jumped to level 31 or something like that after single player, and advanced through the next ones by trading, mostly. Now when I look at the next level requirement it says "mission" but I never started a mission, and my map doesn't have mission instructions in it or anything, and every single bar I go in says one of 3 things:

1) Become friendlier w/this faction
2) Come back when you're more experienced
3) No missions available at this time

Did this happen to anyone else? I couldn't find it in the forums anywhere...
I feel like I'm on crazy pills!

~Edit~ I just double-checked my oldest savegame, it was when I had a dromedary on manhattan, I was level 36 then too, and a *lot* poorer, and it said "mission" at that point as well. I'm just really confused as to what's happening.

Thats a tough one, have you used any cheats/mods? Open your map and see if you have any waypoints activated. You probibly did that alredy but thats the best i can do.

A misson!! try go to an bar and get a misson/Job, maby that will do

That happened to me around level 26...I used a few jumpgates and it went back to normal.

Reaper: $200,000,000.
Rockets: $100,000

I had to reinstall once after modding, so I haven't done it since. I don't know what the problem is. I can't get jobs at any bars, even the ones I'm friendly to. And I did check my map for waypoints: there are none. I have certainly used a lot of jumpgates; I went all over the place grabbing lvl 10 weps, and went from Malta to Manhattan trying to find jobs. I'm simply at my wit's end. I guess it doesn't really matter to me that much, since I can get everything in the game at level 36 anyway, I just want to have the satisfaction of getting to the top, ya know? Well thanks for trying to help, guys.

im lvl 38 and i still get that next level as "mission" requirement, and other times it says max level, must be a bug of some sort

What exactly does it say when you try to get a mission?

Just what I said in the original post. The window pops up but instead of listing missions, a pic, and the details, it says that I need to become freindlier, more advanced, or just to come back later.
