Flying further afield

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Flying further afield

Hello all.

Well I'm about 10 hours into the game, I've just completed mission 3 and levelled up to 6. I'm in a liberty Heavy Fighter (defender I think its called). I'm flying around visiting the systems just outside of the Manhattan system, but every jumpgate beyond that system denies me access. I'm on the side of the police/Navy but slowly turning towards a Bounty Hunter. I can't find any other ships worth buying within my confines. When do I get to fly further afield? Also. there seems to be a small bug. I buy about 20 mines/countermeasures, I fire one or two off and the next time I look I have run out of both!

If anyone can help I would appreciate it very much.

Thankyou

Well I can't help you with the bug. But you can't leave Liberty until you have done enough of the storyline. And you gradually move through the Sirius sector in the missions until you finally get access to all of them.

Thier illogical pride is a handicap on thier life expectancy

make sure you don't have your mines/cm enabled or you will use them every time you are shooting enemies

Your first coplue missions restricts you to new york, somehow even the jumpholes require proper clearance, hehe. next few will restrict you to ny,colorado, california, and texas, after you escape from liberty most of the rest of the systems will open up. Then you just get to swear at your level, which always seems to be just one under getting that sweet new ship/gun you were browsing. Happy hunting

Thanks all.

I do have them enabled. I've been spending a bloody fortune on them!

Thanks people. I'll just make do with my Defender for now.

Actually, I started out going to the junker base which is NE of Mannhatten. You should be neutral to the Junkers. Start going on missions for them against Xeno's. When you get up some money, you can buy the dagger, which [imho is a much better fighter than you will need till you start running for it. It also has more armor than the Liberty Heavy Fighter. It doesn't have as much firepower, but it is quick, nimble, and impressive for the early stages.
