Which is best faction?

Which is best faction to ''join'' ? I personally prefer Corsairs and work for them. And is there anyway to really join factions?

Good guys go to heaven...Bad guys go...EVERYWHERE[![![!

I'm a Corsair too. Best ships, largest support base, best economic clout, highest paying missions. Why fly with anyone else?

I want it to say [CorsairLite when I show up on someone's screen in MP, but I'm still one bar away from being all the way right. It's probably because I don't want to kill Bounty Hunters. It's just such an annoyance to fight them, becuase they swarm and they're everywhere.

ive been playing MP for 2 weeks and i found if you kill bounty hunters to where there almost hostile it will make you look good to the pirates also a good place to kill them is at the xenos base they always come there to kill so i kill to bidrs with duel guns so try that

Im assuming one can never really join a faction, just improve the rep with a said faction to the point that you can land and do missions?

no, cant join factions... hence "freelancer" ;-)
