Ive found an unknown object once or twice. One of them led to a nomad system that had nothing but 8 nomad fighters. Although the jump gate had a wreckage field with about 10-15 wrecked fighters. Thats how i went up from lvl 36- 38. I was rather happy... But the nomad system is weird. All white and pink...real weird. I dont like it too much...

it is one of the suns, it shows correctly on the nav map, but not in flight... you can only target one sun and the unknown object (2 clicks apart I recall) sooo it has to be the other sun...
just as the jumphole from gamma to alpha is called unknown on one side, and on of the suns and the single sun in the nomad system are unknowns too.

You can find "unknown objects" in gass clouds and other places throughout the game... you actaully fly past one in mission 4 (I think it is) in the Omega 3 system... I dont think they have any importance other than to just sit there and look pretty, they look like small suns, and cause radiation damage if you get too close.

Omega-3 in mission 4? uh, no, I don't think so... that's Liberty space to Leeds through Magellan. And the "thing" in Omega-3 is unique in that you won't see it anywhere else, that I know of. It isn't labeled an "unknown object", or even labeled at all, you can't target it. I found it through exploration; and if I flew past it on a storyline mission, I must have been distracted, because I would have stopped to look at it and say "what the heck is that thing?"

iirc it was a weapon platform ... at least thats what was the result of the last topic I´ve read dealing with this unknown objekt, just suizide into the sun, and get close enough to it, than you will know for sure.

The object is inside the blue dwarf. 1921 meters inside to be exact. I've seen it from far away and it looked like a weapons platform.
