Hyper Gates? What Hyper Gates?

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Hyper Gates? What Hyper Gates?

Near the end of the SP campaign, you get this lovely little in-game cinematic that shows off those nifty little hyper gates lanes which are supposedly faster than the trade lanes.

After the SP campaign, where the Hell are they?

Seriously, I get almost shot to death by crazed, aquatic looking, robotic caretakers and all I get is a pat on the back, a pardon I shouldn't have needed in the first place and no hyper gate access?

Christ, at least they could have been polite enough to provide some KY on that final mission if they're going to shaft me that hard.

Anybody find these oh so wonderful "hyper gates"?

Further, what the Hell happened to the alien artifact that I had mounted on my ship at the final mission? I was never told it got taken from me...and supposedly it activates hyper gates...why can I not use it?

Hypergates do not exist is the game....(Possible teaser for expansion/sequel)

As for the Pat on the back....

What do you expect....a parade in Times Square? (At least I would think Planet Manhattan would have that somewhere) A medal? A cookie? Hehehe...No...Trent is a freelancer...and not into glory...Just wants to get paid.

Besides...The way they did it was good...Leaves you wanting more....Doesn't it?

Makes you want to buy expansions/sequels?

That's good future sales possibilites there.

Parade? No.

Million credit cheque for saving the ass of humanity? YES!

Ok, mayhap a million credits is a bit extreme. I'd settle for 500,000.

I'm not sure if it left me wanting "more", per se. A pre-rendered movie at the end that was like a mini-movie (say 5-7 minutes of Blizzard like quality) would have left me feeling as if I have accomplished something.

I do very much enjoy Freelancer, there is no however or but to that. I just wish that the game gave me a since of significance as to why I went through all that.

Hey and this metal thingy with the ribbon should be handy for pickin up the honeys. Thought it would have come with a dinner and dancing though. Not the back door with the side ways glances. I took a shower and every thing. And where did Juni disapear to? That wink had some promise in it. Maybe if I show her this metal thingy with the ribbon she will be interested.

If you notice Juni only starts the flirting when she no longer has any money to pay you with. Typical woman, always using their charm to get what they want out of men

I believe in the cutscene, the doctor explains that the hypergates connect various parts of the GALAXY together not the Sirius Sector... so obviously, you wouldn't be able to use them.

TANSTAAFL, You got paid, and quite well I might add for your first 3-4 missions you flew for LSF. Unfortuniately when you chose to fight with the order you were no longer considered to be employed by the LSF. We made it very clear at the beginning of each mission that you understood the conditions under which any money would be given to you. If at any time you were unclear of the terms, or unhappy with the conditions of the said missions, you were able to file a complaint with our head office (conviently located on the planet primus) within 72 hours of said disagreement.

Let me take this time to express our deep appreciation of your efforts on the behalf of humanity, and our hearty congratulations for all your wonderful acomplishments.

Thank you for stopping by, have a nice day
