Bretonia space (possible spoiler )

I've just completed mission 3 and am at Leeds. I'm told to go to New London to get a new ship, but it only has Light fighters. I have been flying a Heavy fighter (Defender) for a while now. Do I have to go back to a Light Fighter or can I buy a heavy somewhere else?

There is a heavy fighter in Leeds, fly to the planet that is near Stokes.

The Bretonia light fighter is better than the Defender. It has better armor, agility, and cargo space. The only downside is it cannot carry as many weapons, but overall, it is better than the Defender.

Go to dublin, get some trade going with the places there and find a nice bretonian heavy fighter on the battleship.

Did me until i got the anubis. (singleplayer)

I went from Starflier -> Rhino -> Mule -> Cavalier -> Anubis.

I did several story missions in the Rhino and Mule, but it was just getting too hard because I couldn't dodge the fire.

Light and Heavy are only relative terms, the Bretonia Light is heavier than the Liberty Heavy...

My ship progression was

Starflyer (aka piece of junk)- Patriot, Defender-Cavalier-Crusader-Drake-Barracuda-Anubis. Now off to get the real good stuff

I went from Starflier-> Patriot->Defender->Dagger->Legionnaire->Dragon throughout the storyline never flown any of the Bounty hunter ships though should be interesting once I play the storyline again.
